Yes he did lose, convincgly. But these bullshit threads and posters claiming Mijares is a bum have no f*cking idea what theyre talking about. Mijares is was past the stage of being exposed, for the boxing educated (specifically those who actually follow boxing below the WelterW limit) a quick glance through his resume is enough to prove this. Claiming Mijares was exposed or is a bum after this loss is the same as claiming Cotto was exposed by Margarito. Not every champ or p4p fighter who loses a fight is exposed.
I've known Vic even before fans here in BS talked about him.Stop acting like you're the only one who watches boxing.
If you use your jab, move lateral against Vic, he won't be able set up his power punches thus causing him to get careles and lunging in with his punches.
Mijares fought his fight. You can't stay in front of Darch or you will get KTFO.
There also times when Vic lunge in but Mijares didn't step back and counter him.
With Nonito, you got that powerful left hook waiting for your a$s.
:wtf:
:thumbsdow

mijares was exposed as overconfident. I expect him to come back from this loss and will continue watching his fights. Vic is a pretty bad ass fighter before, but now that his defense is tighter and he doesn't lunge or load up on one shot he is definitely someone to watch.
You haven't seen many Vic fights.
Hes known for lunging in with the left.
They obviously worked that kink out once Nonito showed him what a true flaw it is.
Its got nothing to do with Mijares just standing there, it has to do with his training.
There has been remarkable improvement in that aspect of his game.

people saying mijares was overated and shit are ignorant or just supid.
Mijares is an amazing boxer, has all the package.
Vic was amazing on the fight....his power, pressure and defense were top class and Mijares wasnt able to adjust and time vic's punches and thats all because of vics great performance. Mijares will come back stronger, im sure of it cos he doesnt seem like a guy that after a lose he will lose his determination.
Ill be waiting for mijares return and im sure he will come back to dominate the division. he couldnt do it now, but he is still young and this lose will help him to be better next time.
Vic wasn't lunging in cause Mijares was there in front of him flatfooted open to get hit with Vic power punches.
Nonito does lateral movement.......always on his toes bouncing in and out ,moving to his left which is the correct thing to do against a southpaw like Vic.
Plus, Donaire have that powerful left hook which is a good weapon against a southpaw.

The Vic that got crushed by Nonito isn't the same fighter that put on a brilliant display last night. There wasn't much of the usual lunging in by Vic. He set up his left had well by keeping the right busy. His uppercut was deadly as well.
I'd favor Vic right now over Nonito.

credit should be given where it is due ...
vic's win over mijares is impressive, but i dont see him beating nonito, unlike mijares nonito took vic's shots and gave vic some big shots of his own...

Please, one Mexican loses and you wanna front like the rest of our peoples are as weak as FILIPINOS!? lol Only a regime of female soldiers on a battle field can be classified as your equivalents.
Truth is, the ONLY fighter in Mares' way is Lopez. And Lopez is 10x's the fighter that the "Filapeeno islands" can produce lol, be serious.
wasnt as bad as quitter Banal
Yeah Banal has Mexican blood that's why. :lol1: Do you think Mijares deserves to remain in the P4P list? Honestly, what do you think? :lol1:
why would they say joe got exposed?
joe won that ****ing fight.
They said it because Bernard was 43 and many people( including ESPN commentator Brian Kenney ) agreed that Bernard won the fight. I have to admit that it was very close, and IMO it could have gone either way. Bernard landed the more meaningful blows throughout, and was able to neutralize Joe's work rate. MY point was that Joe and Bernard both are WAY past the exposed stage, and most people cannot do what they do.
the ones calling him exposed are the fuking pathetic pinoys who dont know shit about boxing... no one should take those dumb fuks serious
Yeah Mijares wasn't exposed he was just outboxed, outhussled and eventually KOed. :lol1:

Agreed. They are the same people who say Hopkins exposed Calzaghe, even though both are proven legends and are at the end of their careers. No one can pull a Hopkins, that's why i still believe that Pavlik will be close to unbeatable at 160. Mijares was on the pound for pound list and had most of the titles at super fly, so he was definitely past the ''exposed'' stage. Amir Kahn and Andy Lee is the definition of someone that got exposed.
let me tell you guys something as a HUGE Vic Darchinyan fan.
First off, Mijares is still, IMO, a very good fighter and my thoughts on him being a P4P guy havn't changed one bit. I still think Mijares is good, very good. All this bs talked is based on one thing. WE (including myself) NEVER THOUGHT VIC DARCHINYAN WAS THIS GOOD. I was saying all along "he has improved, he is fighting more focused, he isn't looking for the one punch anymore" but I never thought that he had reached this level. Mad respect to Mijares because the shot, CLEAN SHOTS, he was taking 8 out of 10 115 lbs would have fallen earlier. As for Vic, if he keeps this determination and focus NO ONE CAN TOUCH HIM AT 115
i like to see this statement proven immediately, nonito is in need of a Big Fight, he could challenge VIC again for his belts...
if not montiel fight would produce a lot of fireworks...
The nut huggers who are claiming Mijares was exposed are the same people who were saying Vic was "exposed" against Donaire. They shouldnt discredit Vic's win over Mijares, he's improved and it was well deserved. Mijares can still rebound from this loss like Vic has. At this point, I'd favor him in a rematch against Donaire.:boxing:

Vic's win over Mijares is major.
Mijares schooled Arce when Arce was on the major rise to super stardom. And lets not forget this is a guy that went to Japan twice and won. The man is highly skilled and a good fighter and anyone that says otherwise is talking out of their ass.
It was huge indeed. The proper comparison would be if Margarito boxed Cotto's face off of, dropped him, then sent him down for the count later in the fight in a virtual shutout.
Now had Vic been losing all the rounds and KTFO Mijares with a huge haymaker that would be understandble. Vic the so-called one dimensional slugger gave the master boxer a boxing lesson and a beating before icing him.
