So what other excuses can all you Calzaghe haters think of once RJJ loses to him?
Everyone here is saying that RJJ will expose or embarrass Calzaghe for who he really is. Calzaghe nuthuggers better eat their words if he loses!!!!
Yet if Calzaghe wins, then what? RJJ was shot to begin with? So basically its a lose/lose situations for Calzaghe anyway. If he wins, he was supposed to. If he loses then OMFGROFL YOU ****ING SUCK!!!
Realistically speaking, what is it gonna take for some of you to give the guy credit? Beat Dawson?
Mate your forgetting one thing, Joe's not American.
Your in a forum where most of the posters are from the promise land, they know best son.
the difference between joe and dawson is no one in their right mind is calling dawson p4p #1 or #2.
also Tarver just beat Woods 1 fight ago and Calz ducked Johnson twice.
Toney was right about Calzaghe being a Joke that still hasn't done anything. He's also right about him being an overprotected bum. By the way Jeff Lacy sucks. Who cares what anyone said or thought before the fight. It's not even a big win now.
Haha. Gotta love it. Try harder next time. ;)

I honestly believe that if Calzaghe beats Roy, you'll see him getting a lot of respect. The JC fans will finally be able to rest, the haters will ofcourse find excuses, even the Roy Jr., fans will find excuses for their champion being beat - Which is the only pathetic thing here.
This is not just some guy, this is Roy Jones Jr. and three loses aint gonna change that this guy is being called the fighter of the last 25 years. Beating him, if by any means, very impressive.
(Ps. the talk about Chad Dawson just shows that you haters really are running out of opponents.)
How much respect can you get for fighting Roy at this point in his career?
Roy's never looked the same since returning to 175. I keep saying it, Tarver looked like crap when he returned and Chris Byrd going down to 175 sealed it for me as a warning to all fighters 35+ that want to pack on muscle, fight as a Heavyweight (even though Tarver's was for a movie) and then move back down.
If Joe gets respect from me it's from being undefeated for so long, beating the crap out of Jeff Lacey and then putting on another great performance against Kessler. Yes, he did beat Eubank many years ago, but I'm not quite sure how much Eubank had left.
Joe's a very good fighter and is underrated by many. But he is now, like many boxers, overrated and underrated.
The only complaint I have had with him is that he waited so long to step up. He should have fought Roy a long time ago. Now, it's like Lewis vs. Tyson...Marciano vs. Louis.
I still think Joe would have benefited had he either fought in America from the start of his career, or at least came here when he was in his mid 20's, or maybe even been born here.
Joe does better when you shove his ass in the ring and make him fight.
In America, he would have been pushed, but then again, even American fighters have avoided the push.
So Dawson gets heaps of credit for beating two almost great 39 year olds but Calzaghe gets none for beating a ATG 39 year old...
Interesting...

LOL the only reason Lacy sucks NOW is because of the beating Calzaghe gave him has destroyed him mentally.
he shouldn't hav stayed in his home country fighting people we never heard of for over a decade. if he's so good he should hav proved it a long time, then we wouldn't be having this conversation.
I don't get your question.
My question to you...
How can Roy Jones Jr. be any good at all if you are so 100% confident about Calzaghe beating him that you have no consideration for the word "if" when it comes to a Calzaghe win... the word "when" applies. Seriously, your topic is about when Calzaghe beats Jones... the question of whether it happens or not is not even a question in your mind.
I think that right there proves that Jones is super diminished, and this isn't even close to the kind of even fight that really boosts a fighter's reputation, but... maybe that is just me.
:
"Joe Calzaghe-Jeff Lacy is a mismatch. Lacy is going to destroy that boy. He's too strong, he's a fighter - he's proved himself. Calzaghe never did anything. He beat Chris Eubank nine years ago, but what has he done since then? He's a joke, that's why he keeps pulling out of fights. I wouldn't be surprised if he pulled out of this one. Everybody in the UK is over-protected, but Lacy will be OK, because he's a fighter." ~ James Toney
Laughable, just like the clowns on this board. He was right though - it was a mismatch.
lol, its called falling in love with a puncher...
Right, That Pesky detail about Calzaghe hand picking his opponents his whole career, Hanging on to a garbage WBO title for 18 defenses and pretending it was a real title, then waiting until his 2 best opponents crossed the 40+ year old mark to come to America and fight them. That's HOF material right there! Damn details....
OK, then let's talk about certain details such as Hopkins backing out of the Calzaghe fight in 2002 if we're talking about "waiting until his 2 best opponents crossed the 40+ year old mark to come to America and fight them". What you got to say about it?
But really, who cares man? Everyone shits on Calzaghe, it's fashionable, you know. Check out this ridiculous James Toney quote:

No it's not.
Calzaghe gets plenty of credit, and he will get further credit when he beats Jones. I doubt he's worried whether or not Arka from BoxingScene forums gives him credit, though.
LOL.I'm sure he doesn't.But you clearly do....
Say what you will about Bhop vs Calz,
but he still managed to scrape out a win (even if it was ugly). The people who say he didn't land must not have watched the last 3 or 4 rounds of the fight, because by then Calzaghes rhythm was beginning to show.
Taylor barely scraped by Hopkins too, but that doesn't make him HOF bound.
So what other excuses can all you Calzaghe haters think of once RJJ loses to him?

rematch Hopkins and fight Dawson and win in convincing fashion. He doesn't have to dominate, just win convincingly. Then I will say he is a truly great boxer and probably the best boxer of our generation above 160 lbs.
OK then. It's like giving mad credit to Leon Spinks for defeating Ali ....
No it's not.

:ugh:Beat is a strong word isn't it?
No, you're just being picky about small details that don't even matter.
