Is Haye's chin that bad?
Up until recently I had only seen him in against Macca so obviously I had not really seen his chin problems first hand. Recently I have been watching some of his other fights and I just don't see that he has a "glass" chin. Sure it isn't granite but is it really that bad? Take the Mormeck fight. He took some flush rights from Mormeck who isn't a light puncher and I thought that overall he stood up to them rather well. So is his chin as bad as everyone says it is?
Thoughts?
Against Mormeck who is a good puncher at cruiserweight he took a fair number of big punches and was only hurt once, i am not sure if he was really hurt against Enzo watching the replay i remember it just landed on his shoulder and he fell of balance, the only real time his chin let him down was against Mock. His chin at cruiserweight is ok who knows what it will be like at heavyweight.
The questions about his chin will be answered quickly in the heavyweight division.
He couldn't take a punch too well in the cruiserweight division but it could be because he had a hard time making the weight.
Normally for any other weight class I would agree, but Ive never seen anyones chin get better in the HW division.

Haye vs Thompson
Haye vs Mock
Haye vs Mormeck
Hes almost exclusively gone down from equilibrium shots to the temple. Hardly indicative of a glass chin.
Am I the only one who branches all areas under chin, maybe we should stop saying chin and start saying punch resistance.
Take Amir Khan for example he has been down from shots to the chin, shots to the temple and a hook from Gomez that caught him on the cheek, he hasn't just got a bad chin. You're right about Haye though.
It's not glass but it's not great if you know what i mean.
yeah,
If a geniune Heavyweight puncher connecting flush with Haye and he walks onto it, he's going to sleep. That's not necessarily a bad thing it's to be expected some of these heavyweights have ridiculously good chins, like Sam Peter.
Haye has the desired sick power/questionable chin that I really like. He'll always be exciting because of his chin, you can't relax watching him.
Haye has never big KO'd. He's got a decent chin, I've seen my boy take some bombs.
To say his chin is just pure glass is not correct, IMO.
it's toughened glass.
Watch the Fragomeni fight, his chin clearly isn't that bad otherwise he would have been on the floor many a time.
Fragomeni is a pretty modest banger though.
I think Haye has an alright chin, but someone will have him over and out at heavyweight, I'm braced for it.

Yeah I mean, I have seen him take some very solid shots and not go down. That is not a glass chin IMO.
I don't think it's great.
Rewatching the Macca fight I think Macca had a legitimate chance to have Haye all over the place in the 1st round but he bottled it sort of. He threw a short left hook and it was solid and Haye's legs stiffened and Macca just admired his work.
But that's a Haye with almost 0% body fat, that just isn't right.
