i don't hate calzaghe at all, but i do rank bhop a shade ahead of him. i think the pavlik win was bigger than any win on joe's resume. plus winky and tarver.
joe's resume just doesn't do it for me. he had a string of relatively weak title defenses, his hands are weak and his punches are just sheer volume. i give him props for beating bhop, lacy and kessler though. especially the lacy win, he tore him up.
but really you can make a case for any of the top p4p guys, which in my opinion are
pacquiao
bhop
calzaghe
i am a big calzaghe hater! i have him at #1 pound for pound. i don't see how people rate manny over him to be honest.i think bernard should be #2.or maybe if they could share the #1 spot.
Hahaha
I'm one of those that put Manny ahead of Joe.
One: Manny has fought in the States, away from his home, a lot longer. Points.
Two: Manny has moved up several weight divisions and Won titles. Points.
Three: Manny has kicked the crap out of some very good Mexican fighters. HOF fighters. Points.
Four: Manny is a Pimp outside of the ring. POINTS.
Five: Nike sponsers Manny. Points.
Six: Manny is God in his home country. Points.
Seven: Manny is Chinese...and I love Kung Fu movies ;)
Eight: Manny is somehow able to run in L.A.
Nine: Manny took his team to the NL Championship this year.
Ten: Manny is exciting to watch.
Just wondering...
Where do you put Calzaghe on the P4P list, where do you put Bhop?
I have Calzaghe at #2.
Not a hater.
I think he is a very good fighter and has a decent resume. He will go to the HOF.

hopkins should be much higher than windmill limbs. hopkins beat tarver, winky, pavlik and should have a win over calzaghe. windmill limbs has a SD against hopkins and he beat kessler who has faded into bolivian. how can calzaghe possibly be higher? he can't.
Let me explain how this works. If the guy at number 3 beats the guy at number 4, he stays ahead of him in the rankings, regardless of who number 4 beat in the past or future. If he couldn't beat number 3, he doesn't deserve to skip him.
It is very simple.

Calzaghe beat Bernard. That could potentially be a reason.

.... jk. I guess this doesn't really apply to me, since I am not a 'hater' although I do think joe lost to Hopkins last time out, and am rooting for Roy this time out.
I have it calzaghe #2, BHOP #4 based on what the records say (JC SD12 BHOP). I was exaggerating perhaps with Ricky, but he's still nowhere near the top 10....
