BoxingScene reports that Kessler's next title defense might be against Gusmyl Perdomo (15-2, 9 KO's).
Perdomo lost a decision to Dimitri Sartison who was dominated by Kessler in most of the rounds and stopped in the 12th.
Does anyone else think Kessler is wasting his career?
This is a joke of a fight in my opinion.
No chance in hell Kessler would take a fight like this if it isn't mandatory, i just heard from a danish news source his promoter confirms they're waiting for the outcome of calzaghe vs. jones fight, if calzaghe wins he would go for him, but no chance in hell calzaghe would fight him, so that leaves him with B-Hop which i dont think would happen either, and if jones wins he would go straight after B-hop and vice versa... so that leaves Kessler back with the only realistic option he has at this point is to fight the winner of the IBF-title between Larsen vs Bute, or the winner of Taylor/Lacy fight. Froch is also an option imo.
Taylor, Bute and Froch are the opponents Kessler should be looking to fight.
I'm not sure if Taylor or Bute would take a fight against Kessler at the moment but Froch probably would.

Glen Johnson would be a good fight but I don't see it happening. I believe Johnson will fight the winner of Diaconu-Branco (most likely Diaconu) for the WBC LHW title.
Bute wouldn't be a bad fight despite the controversial fight with Andrade.
That's one good fight. Kessler isn't retiring any time soon so he can still improve it. At the end of the day, they both fought some weak opposition.:lol1:
I was only playin with ya anyway because you said you were in Calz nut swinging mode:D
I know son :luvbed:
I think I remember you suggesting Glenn Johnson as a possible opponent for him. I'm starting to think that may the best option for Kessler.
Glen Johnson is a truth machine and I'm not sure what to make of Kessler yet. Style-wise, he has the potential to be elite but his resume certainly isn't. I'd love to see how he handles Johnson...IF he can handle Johnson.
There really aren't too many fights for Kessler but he can't keep up this round robin of cheesecake fights. I'll give him a pass for now but it's disturbing to hear his name mentioned as elite when his best opponent is Anthony Mundine - and even that's debateable.
Johnson-Kessler? I won't hold my breath but hey, you never know.
Kinda like Calzaghe did throughout his career up until his last couple of fights:lol1:

Chris Eubank>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Satirison + Haussler :luvbed:
He has a belt. A unification fight is always interesting.
Come on, man. A belt? It's BELTS that's got Kessler fighting these cupcakes in the first place.
Be honest, after watching Bute barely make it out alive against Andrade, what the hell does he offer Kessler besides an easy fight?
And let's not even talk about Larsen.
Kessler's in a real tough situation where he may have to take some risks in order to land this "big fight" he dreams of...like fighting people no one else would.
Why would anybody be interested in Bute following his performance against Andrade...does anyone see him beating Kessler? And Mads Larsen? God Forbid.

Mikkel talks about how hard it is to get fights in USA because he is not american and he thinks that a belt will help him.

Kessler saying he wants to fight the big US names is not the same as saying he wants/will get a high-profile American for his next fight.
The Perdomo fight is entirely possible because he is rated number 1 by the horrible WBA ranking system.
I do believe Kessler wants to fight Hopkins, Taylor, Pavlik and Calzaghe but does he want to fight the lesser known top super middleweights?
I'm not sure if he will ever get another fight with a big name again unless he starts doing solid work in his division by unifying and defending his titles against top contenders.
I think he wants to fight those you mentioned or another titleholder. Froch/Pascal or Bute/Larsen or maybe even Inkin although I have doubts there.
I gave it a thumbs down because if this fight is truly happening then Kessler is wasting his talent.
Danish posters then confirmed that it might be untrue but some trolls kept this thread going.
I didn't hear Kessler saying that. Maybe in another interview but Bat posted this after the fight:
Why not be honest, TheManchine? This is what Bat really posted:
"Kessler: I knew he had a good guard, but he didn't move his head very well. A shame he's eye was hurt after round 2.
I want to fight the big US names. That's my ambition. I had a bad day against Calzaghe and I'd like to do it one better. "

You are both right. There were several interviews with Kessler on saturday. Both to german TV and to danish. Kessler said both.
Not true - in the post fight interview Kessler said he wanted to fight a high-profile American next, and Bat posted that here in NSB.
Liar. This is what Bat posted:

You made a thread with a "thumbs down", claiming Kessler was probably going to fight a poorly known, probably mediocre opponent.

Kessler: I had full control in this fight. I was much faster and my jab was working perfectly. I was very nervous as I had everything to lose. So I decided to come out fast. and fired three quick punches and he couldn't follow me.
I go abroad to fight and I feel like no.1. I'm the viking warrior. I will not talk about the future but just celebrate this win.

Yeah agreed,Kessler has now had two good wins since Calzaghe winning and defending his title so he is back on track and his cofindence is back and now should be tryin to get big fights, most of the super middlweights are tied with fights or have just fought-Bute/Andrade just fought,Taylor/Lacy boxing next month,Froch/Pascal, but there are better fighters that he could be fighting now who haven't got no fights coming up Bika,Allan Green,Inkin. He also he also pulled out of Miranda twice this year?
Maybe you should take that word into account before you start jumping to conclusions.
I didn't jump into conclusions, I asked people to confirm whether this was true or not:
Hopefully BatTheMan or another Danish poster can confirm this untrue...
I really don't see the point of this defense unless it's soon and only another tune-up for a bigger fight that is being negotiated.
Good to hear that it might not be true.
I'm hoping Kessler's next opponent will be someone from the top 10 of the super middleweight division.
Why not make a thread about what Kessler actually said, instead of taking something a writer made up?
He hadn't said anything when I made this thread.
There is no chance of Hopkins - Kessler happening but I'm interested in what other offers they've gotten.
