After that disheartening loss to the crafty vet Hopkins, who is a good opponent for the Ghost to rebuild his confidence? There are a few options. Please pick one. For the record I don't believe he should fight over 160 again for a LONG time to come. 160 is where he is an elite fighter. above 160 we see a sluggish, average fighter with much less power.
Jeff lacy....After the beat they both took it would be nice to see them fight..lol....I kid..i kid.
Pavlik would probably knock Lacy out, but I think, and again I can't stress it enough, Kelly needs to not jump around anymore. His next few fights should all be at 160, it should not even be up for discussion. He can eventually move up, but until he cleans up at 160, all fights above MW are off the table. The lesson learned from Hopkins-Pavlik is that Kelly is a Middleweight, not a SMW, not a LHW, not a HW. He is the meanest mother ****er at 160, and he should stay there until everyone in the division understands that. Let's hope Arum has the good sense to realize this now, even though he had make Kelly learn it the hard way.
He should take the super fight against Kessler.
Terrible idea. Kessler should be way at the bottom of Pavlik's priorities at this particular point in time. Unless Kessler decides he wants to puke up 8 lbs and fight at 160. NO WAY SHOULD KELLY FIGHT ABOVE 160 FOR AT LEAST his next 6 fights. He should learn from the Hopkins fight, and the lesson should be don't listen to promoters who want these dumb weight jumping matches. Focus on the division that you rule, and take on the best within it. Don't start looking at the big guns in SMW and LHW, Kelly is still young and needs to establish himself as the undisputed King of 160. One division at a time!
Seems like most people agree, Rubio then AA. I am one of them. I really hope the kid gets his head straight and runs through his division. Despite the disheartening loss, I think we will see the real Kelly Pavlik at 160, not that shell of a fighter we saw against a 170 lb Hopkins. After those two(Rubio and Abraham), I wouldn't mind seeing him take on Winky, a man I see Pavlik beating, and then maybe Paul Williams. Pavlik has plenty of options for big names at MW, contrary to those who write off the MW division as empty of talent, especially with all the up and comers at 154 who could very well move up to 160 in the near future.
i agree with this!
I guess his mandatory so he can keep his belts. Then Abraham. I have heard Vernon Forrest too, I hope that doesnt happen. Paul Williams wouldnt be bad but I dont even know if he will get full credit for that fight.

Also, I believe that if Pavs can beat Abraham, which I think he will, he could easily stay undefeated at 160 for an extremely long time. Some other names to consider: James Kirkland, if he moves up, Sergio Mora, JC Chavez Jr., Vernon Forrest(if they move up) I don't see Kelly losing to anyone at 160, he is a dominating force their, eons above the fighter we saw fight Hopkins at 170. Anyone agree or disagree?
i,m leaning towards winky. Simply because he's always out of the equation. And in my opinion and many others winky is a good fighter. But ....A fight with Abraham is probably the best option ......it'll definitely be bigger
