I ordered the hopkins v. pavlik PPV and i wanted to know if i was the only one that wasnt impressed with the undercards???
the rubio fight was entertaining for the most part but the first undercard and last undercard didnt deliever in my opinion.
HBO charges us $50 to watch a ppv (well they charged me $55 because my directv wouldnt allow me to order via remote so i had to pay an EXTRA $5 to order by phone...greedy bastards) and 9 times out of 10 all we really get our money's worth is the main event...9 times out of 10 the undercards are damn near tourture because they arent stacked with good matchups...
the dibb/luevano (sp???) fight was tourture...boring...dibb was scared of luevano for damn near all 12 rounds...and danny jacobs stopped his opponent in the first round...
i think we need to start getting cards WORTH $50 if thats what they are going to charge.
end of story.
thoughts???
you didn't like the frist undercard? i thought it was good because we seen a young propsect....
the second one was a good fight....they really was just fighting in the center of the ring and either could had won it....but i thought rubio deserved to win it.
and what you mean Dibs fight was boring?! that dude is an ATG/GOAT/HOF!!
BUT they could had done better in the undercards....i almost fell alseep
the first fight was good to see a young prospect but we didnt really get to see him...a first round KO doesnt ever tell the story of a prospect...just makes you wait a couple months to see him fight again...
rubio's fight was the best undercard and i dont disagree it was action-packed...probably the only undercard that deserved to be on that PPV card...
the dibbs fight was a joke...
hahahahahha now thats comedy
note where he is from??? isnt dibbs from australia too? if i remember right he is...and thats why he says he's pretty good...i never really heard about dibbs but i know i dont want to watch him fight again...especially on a card that costs $50...he should be fighting on ESPN.
HBO are deliberately scamming people it reaks of greed.
I think Billy Dib is a pretty good fighter though.
You guys just didn't get to see him fighting a busy fight.

I didn't mind. I was impressed with Jacobs. The Rubio fight was good, but went to the wrong person. Dib-Luevano was awful, but eh. The main event made up for it.
i watched match streamed instead of buying it . . . but i usually buy. if the undercards were better i would have considered buying but i felt the card was weak. it was a catchweight fight, with no titles on the line and it was suppose to be an easy win for pav so i thought i wont buy this one.
while watching the stream during main event there were over 16,000 viewers! i'm pretty sure thats more then actually bought the fight (i think i heard arum say it was 11,000 buys but i am not positive about that).
theres just too many ppv's that has gotta change, or at least put together worth while undercards to make the purchase more justifiable . . .
you have it 100% right...
if they want to charge $50 stack the undercards with good fighters...
my thought is if HBO wouldnt consider televising the undercard fighters of FREE HBO then they shouldnt televise them on HBO PPV!!!
plain and simple...i wouldnt mind if the undercards had prospects on it if they are any good...i wouldnt mind seeing something out of the tripleheaders HBO puts on...put up someone we heard of at least...sometimes i see undercard fighters with 5-1 records fighting someone else 3-1...im like what the **** did they do to deserve to get on a PPV card?
scam...its all a scam.

if dib isnt the worst fighter i ever seen i dont know who is:sad6:
yeah I couldn't believe he was a 5-1 favorite! As soon as i seen that line there was no way i wasn't going to bet on it. I wanted to put 300 but held back cause i figured there might be a reason he was 5-1 favorite but shit i was kicking myself after about the 5 round.

he was scared of luevano in my opinon...
anyone remember dirrel v. stevens??? it was just about that bad...
nothing new buddy!!!!!!!! you have to be willing to pay 50 bucks for the main event nothing more. If you get a good fight on the undercard that's a plus. I liked the luevano fight because i put down 150 on 5-1 odds :)
i noticed that if you put down money on a fight its more entertaining if the fight sucks...
i put down money on taylor over spinks when they fought so it was more exciting to me than it was when i watched it again later on...
but i didnt put any money on any of the fights...plus they were boring on top of it...
you dont need to put money on a fight like corrales v. castillo, marquez v. vasquez, majority of pacquiao's fights, etc. for them to be exciting...
but that undercard needed all the help it could get...and a 1/5th of gin and juice couldnt even make it better.
i was showin my boy how u can surf the net on my ps3.... during the undercards... thats how bad they sucked
i was so bored i started drinking...and thats why i was wondering if they were boring to me or boring to everyone...thought the alcohol played a part in it but apparently not...
the rubio fight was the only undercard i really sat and watched.
this has to be changed...its one thing to put on one of those poor undercards on a regular HBO fight card with a good mainevent and another to stack these terrible fights on a card you payed $50...
think about the undercards for a mega fight like mayweather v. oscar...those made me bored to tears...or the undercards on margarito v. cotto werent even that great...
i hate how if you get a REALLY good main event or one with REALLY big names then the undercards are even worse...its almost as if they plan it to suck if they feel they are giving something great in the end...
for example...the mayorga v. vargas card was worth it to me...they had feliciano on the undercard in a fight that was a very good war...and that ppv was only $30 and it was better bang for the buck than this $50 i spent on hopkins/pavlik...even that main even wasnt worth $50 in my opinion...it looked like it belonged on regular HBO; especially considering it was one sided and not very competitive...
hbo needs to get their stuff straight...seriously.
