Why is it that we have to dish out $50 (PPVs) to watch something that only costs tens of millions of dollars to produce, while on the other hand, we only have to pay (on average) about $10 to watch a movie that costs hundreds of millions of dollars?
I am not referring to a specific match or movie but for the sake of argument, let's use Mayweather-Hatton and The Dark Knight as examples.
That guy used to scare me. He had no ****ing skin.
exactly he was ****ing ridiculous for a kids show. He was badass. I liked em. I dont remember much after that guy, I stopped watching the show after that I think. He was the last main bad guy other than that movie with the Ooze monster. and skull and bobkin or whoever the hell those two guys were.
I had a crush on the pink ranger after that movie.

I guess you would need to break it down too how much the promotion costs, the purse for both fighters, the portion that goes to the promotion company, the officiatiing costs
Because millions go to watch a movie at the cinema and millions more buy the dvd. Movies have a much larger audience so they can sell them cheap and still make a profit
couldnt stop laughing at the pic u got of paul williams..s**t funny.
The Zord and the flute man!, and the enemies ZED and Rita Repulsa (was that her name?)
There was also that juiced about skeleton muscle monster guy...him and Rita got married somehow, which was just ****ing weird. I loved it. whenever Rita talked it never seemed like her mouth matched the words she was saying, maybe Im just remembering wrong tho

Why? Because they've discovered that people will pay it, that's why. When people stop paying that price for a PPV "event", they'll start getting right with their prices.
Also consider that the promoters end up with the lion's share of any profits. I don't believe in socialism, but I really would like to see a cap on the money these guys make from their fighters. Anything over 10% after reasonable expenses is robbery and they should be prosecuted. Some of these pricks have taken 50% or more of their fighter's money, all of it in a few instances, and Don King is one of the leaders of the robber barons. Killing is too good for that bastard, I tell you.
dude, rewatch the old power rangers. not the shitty new ones. the Pink Ranger, Kimberley, shes hot. no wonder I liked her as a kid.
I liked the green ranger more than the white ranger, cause he had that badass flute and that godzilla jackass monster.
and oh yea, I dont know why $50 is such a magical number for PPVs. I mean really, that number makes me sick. they need to bring the price down. only really high profile fights should be that much. no one is gonna buy a lesser ppv when its 50 bucks...

I love how this turned into a Power Rangers thread

True, what's ironic is I was talking about the same thing in my economics class today and how to calculate what will happen when you change price (whether you'll make more profit or less) using Price elasticity of Demand...... but I need to have a test subject to calculate it (i need to know the change in demand)
You, T and myself are all on the same brain wave length.
They were (Tommy). He was Green PR, but he lost his Green powers. Then he came back as White PR. :beerchug:
I prefered the Green Zord rather than the white Zord, He played a flute to make it appear........
True. I have to wonder if they would end up making more money if they charged a bit less though. For me to spend 50 bucks on a PPV it has to be a big fight that I really want to see. If PPVs were only like 25 bucks I'd probably buy all of them so they would end up making more money off a guy like me. I wonder if they would see an increase in overall sales if they dropped the price a bit?

That's precisely the point I was making. I have passed up a lot of fights because I just didn't think it was worth 50 dollars. 25 dollars is a lot easier for me to justify and I would probably buy them every single time if they only cost that much.
I think HBO are worried that they will half they price, but not get double the amount of people watching. So they won't make as much money, and at the end of the day they just want as much money as they can get. :fu2:
Damn you HBO.
60/40 White Power Ranger kicks Gary Lockett's ass.
White Power Ranger was the shit............so was the Green one, i think they were both the same guy
See Rizo....Can I call you Rizo? The PPv are one night only type deals or 2 when they show it the following week on HBO. They must make all they can in one night. With Movies they are released for 3 weeks and in those three weeks millions go watch. Then it comes on DVD Millions buy..Pretty Much they can price cheaper cause more people are buying...You pickn up what im putting down?...
Yeah man, call me Rizo, just don't confuse me with the cunt, Rizoom.
I get you, I never really thought about that stuff. It makes perfect sense.
