I remember months prior to the Hopkins/Calzaghe bout, there were posters up in almost every train station and billboard here in NYC promoting that bout. For some reason, i am not seeing the Jones/Calzaghe fight promoted in the same fashion. I have not seen any commercials either. Anyone else agree?
THere is no hype down here. THat's not unusual though. It pretty much takes a fight between the reincarnation of Christ and Satan for a fight to get hyped in Australia.
Haha, those vids are hilarious.
Roy, tell me about Joe.
"His names Joe, he likes to throw, and that's really all you need to know"
:lol1:

america media sucks for not hyping boxing anymore...all they care about is basebol...
football
and basketball
then baseball then hockey
and I saw posters inpenn station the other day
The promotion is just gathering a little bit of pace over here in england, Problem is Joe C is from Wales so the atmosphere here in england isnt like the Hatton/Mayweather fight which was something else, The way the fight was promoted was brilliant Hatton was his usual self while Mayweather was totally into the whole thing, Thats why the fight did great over here and i doubt the Calzaghe/Jones fight would do that well over here.
The fight been on setanta also has something to do with it here..
That was so sick waking up to see boxing on the front page again.
The fight was the main story on every news program too.
