Lets not be too hard on Kelly Pavlik

I don't think Pavlik got exposed, I think everyone's perception of Pavlik got exposed. I picked B-Hop to win because although Kelly isn't one dimensional, someone like Hopkins who can neutralize punchers can make him one dimensional. I think Pavlik has a long and successful career at 160 ahead of him. Losing is a good thing.

Taking weight into consideration, the Tarver fight might be worse. I think Hops had more respect for Tarver though. He let go more against Pavlik than I've seen in years. He gave Taylor, Winky, Calzaghe, even ****ing Eastman more respect than he gave Pavlik. i see what you're saying but with pav bhop was throwing combos, using a variety of punches i mean it was an absolute dominant performance.. i think hop had more respect for tarver's fighting ability and power

It's pretty funny how losers behind keyboards like us are disrespecting a guy who has tried to take on the big names. He gave up his physical superiority that made him lethal at 160 to fight a guy with vastly more experience. What's even better is that Pavlik has probably gained alot from getting his ass kicked tonight. Probably moreso than all of his well deserved victories. Hopkins walked straight up to him after the bit of shoving at the end and said that he shouldn't let this destroy him and that he will become a great fighter. I'd say he's more likely to know than any e-warriors. I've said many times that Pavlik had looked quite vunerable against Talor and that Taylor was the more skilled boxer, yet Pavlik has great heart and won his two bouts quite well. Hopkins was just too unpredictable for a straight up fighter like Pavlik and he needs to loosen up and learn some ring smarts.

They just treated him for what he was, a unbeaten, young middleweight champion. Did he get the same HYPE that Taylor got from HBO during his contender days?? No. Did he get the same hype that Miranda got after he broke Abraham's jaw, knocked out some guy in one round on HBO and defeated Allan Green on HBO again??? NO People were hyping Miranda and he spoiled that hype and forced everybody acknowledge him for being a very good fighter after he came back from a knockdown to KO Taylor. Taylor was the favorite coming into that fight. So where is the hype. COMMON NOW. Hype is when someone is being praised before accomplishing anything. He wasn't praised and only got some props after accomplishing something........and that's beating MIranda and taking Taylor's title all in the same year. PERIOD.

Actually, I disagree. He was COMPLETELY AND UTTERLY EXPOSED. The hype machine that was built around him being this unstoppable KO machine has been destroyed tonight. The fact that he is 43 matters I suppose because of the number. But in reality in Hopkins's case, it doesn't because B-Hop is no regular 43 year old man. So saying all that, Corrales got dominated by Mayweather. Did he not come back and become a great fighter, winning some big fights at lightweight??? Also what's witht the white referances. Are you some ignorant black guy who think in black and white and fails to see the gray areas? Good example with the Corrales/Mayweather analogy actually. All it takes is one good win for Pavlik and people will be singing a different tune. I remember getting laughed at for my KO predictions over Miranda and Taylor. You're only as good as your last fight in this business it seems.

Kelly got taken to school no doubt, but he took some mean punches. I didnt think he was going to last to long after the 2nd round. Guy can take a punch no doubt about it. I have to respect that. After a while he knew he was just beat, but he just kept walking forward.

Old warriors from the past lost alot of fights and just came back next month and started a new winning streak, destroying opponents. Besides nobody ever looked at Kelly and confused him for a unbeatable fighter. HE DIDN'T GET EXPOSED, he just lost to a better figther. A more tricky fighter who studies his opponents and comes up with a strategy to beat them, unstead of just training and working on his abs and weight. And that's Pavlik's biggest problems. He was doing alot of strength and conditioning training, lifting big tires and hitting the sledge hammer unstead of coming up with a strategy and preparing for what Hopkins had to offer stylistically. Either way he will learn from this and come back better, at least the way he approaches a fight. Studying his opponent and coming up with a game plan. He also needs to milk that middleweight title as long as possible, keeping his weight low in between fights. Kelly Pavlik could very well be the Diego Corrales of 160. Diego got schooled by Mayweather but he carved himself a nice legacy at 130/135 nonetheless.....with his heart and his size and power advantage over lightweights. He was a great fighter.
