I just really dislike Pavlik

I guess I have an amendment to what I said earlier... I didn't want Pavlik to lose a close decision to an old man who would likely not stay around to do anything with it... But man, Pavlik actually did kind of get exposed tonight, which isn't net bad for the sport, because if he really was a ticking timebomb waiting to get exposed, then better sooner than later I guess. Hopkins looked better than anytime I can remember seeing him. All the credit in the world to him.

i dont understand whats not to like. hes a good fighter, hes exciting, and seems to be a nice guy. i dont get how people just hate a guy for no reason

LOL @ Pantera. Pavlik may have been exposed to an extent tonight but he still anhialated your boy Miranda, just as any top level fighter at 160 or 168 in the history of the sport would. Not this badly! Miranda hung in there with Pavlik till around Round 5-6. Miranda went toe to toe with Abraham the first time around and looked good until Round 4 the 2nd time. Pavlik lost EVERY second of this fight. To a 43 year old man. It was a total embarrassment and ruined Pavlik for sure. Abraham would destroy him worse then he did to Miranda.

Well, Kelly Pavlik is young, so he has time to build a good resume. There could be some great fighters out there, who we have yet to know anything about, who may emerge in the next three to five years. Anyway, I guess I stick to names that are current, since I know that's what you really want to know. Besides, Jermain Taylor being on his "victims list" twice, Joe Calzaghe and Arthur Abraham, whom you mentioned, would help. Also, Winky Wright at middleweight or even super middleweight would be a nice add. If Pavlik wants to try his luck at light heavyweight, then there's Chad Dawson. Names like Glen Johnson, Antonio Tarver and Roy Jones probably won't be available if and when Pavlik decides to stick to light heavyweight full time. Though, I will add that if Pavlik can do what has never been done before, which is knocking out Bernard Hopkins, that could make a huge statement.

While I don't particularly like Pavlik and I really don't have any problem with Hopkins, I want Pavlik to win this fight. I originally thought Pavlik wasn't very good after Miranda, Taylor I and Taylor II... not because he did badly, but I just thought he was very one-dimensional, and a timebomb waiting to be exposed. I was clearly wrong... I know it was against Gary Lockett, but... he threw every punch in the book, and he threw them extremely well. The reason I want Pavlik to beat Hopkins is because if someone is going to beat Pavlik, I would rather it be another young, strong, talented, hungry fighter that can actually build off that win. I mean, really, if Hopkins wins, what is he going to do with it? Retire? Then we have a really weak middleweight division instead of one with a couple of good names and that is it. I wouldn't worry about Pavlik losing too much by the way... Hopkins sure sounded like even he knew he was just an opponent for this fight in the HBO Countdown... I don't see anything to not like about Pavlik. I can understand if you don't like him because he destroyed the myth of Edison Miranda, but otherwise, you're not making sense. Idk about him, but... I always kind of like it when a fighter who is not one of my favorites loses when they are undefeated... It's really strange, but... I was happy when Juan Diaz's 0 went, even though I actually like him more than the average guy. P4P competition is all that I can think of.

I don't see anything to not like about Pavlik. The only thing I do not like about Pavlik is that he always thanks God after he wins. Was God in there winning the fight asshole? In that case you're a cheater. If not, shut the **** up! The fact that I'm atheist probably has something to do with it :)
