He is both. Would of been considered one of the best ever if Cus would of lived five more years or Don King had not got a hold of him. Using his tax lawyer to represent Mike in the rape case. What a freaking joke. Has anyone else seen the video of Don King chasing Mike after he got out of prison? When following Mike into the limo, Mike turns and kicks Don in the face. Best blow he ever landed.
tyson
Hall of fame. He outstandable with hes numbers of 1 round knockouts. And off course hes the youngest hevyweight champion ever. Many including me will say that Tyson in hes prime is the best ever!
His potential was so great, that even with his accomplishments and unification at a young age people are STILL saying he was a waste of talent. Thats saying a lot about Tyson, and I agree.
Tyson is almost underrated by the historians now. How often does a guy just run through the division like that? He literally cleaned out the division. I'm pretty sure he beat most if not all of the top 10.
The answer is both. I strongly disagree with anyone who says he's not a Hall of famer.
i never understand these statements..he cleaned out the division and unlike paper champs these days he beat every champion 1 by 1..he was a true undisputed champion
His 1980s run was Hall of Fame, i'll give you that but after Razor Ruddock, his comp was suspect, Seldon was trash and wasnt a Holyfield, Lewis caliber fighter. He still the man but his lack of focus makes me think he aint livup to the potential he had.
I am a fan tho so dont think im hatin
He is a Hall of Famer. Although he probably wasted his prime in prison, I don't think he wasted his talent. He was the top of the boxing world, the biggest name in boxing and accomplished most of his goals in the ring. To me, that means he lived up to his Talent.
He could have beaten Holyfield back in 91, he could have had one of the most decorated heavyweight careers ever....what he had was an undisputed title over suspect competition and then a second career that had as many side antics as legit wins over decent foes...
Mike never beat any true sure fire hw's besides Spinks. Mike is a beast and a talent and if he was focused he coulda been the best HW ever but as much as I love him he really did waste his talent, god bless him tho, there is no fighter as popular as him, lennox lewis, joe frazier, george foreman were all in Vitalis entrance and niether got the reception Mike got when he spoke for 3 seconds.
Since everyone is (correctly) saying both, I'll say that he is more of a hall of famer than a wasted talent. It's not like he didn't win a lot of world title fights.
