I think he would have, and even though Sam Peter was a rude son of a bitch and called Vitali a bum before this fight. I felt sad for him when he quit in the 8th round, first time I watched the fight on justin tv on a live stream and the quality is alot less then watching it on a big screen tv. Just watch this fight on showtime, and I saw that this guy was completely exhausted after the 8th round and it wasn't a shock when he quit to me now. Plus, the justin tv stream went out in the 8th round... I think Vitali would have knocked Sam out in the 9th round if peter hadn't quit though.
that doesnt make any sense. even the worst corrupt judges in the world couldnt have had peter within shouting distance. peter had to have known he needed a knockout to win. that fight was as one sided as it gets
I'm not saying he or his corner would think he was winning, or that he was within shouting distance of getting a bullshit decision, I just think if they wouldn't have heard the open scoring, Peter would have gone out for more punishment, nothing suggested he had any chance of coming from behind, especially considering how tough of a chin Vitali has demonstrated in the past.
not even. peters was'nt hurt, just beaten. if it were'nt for the open scoring he would have kept going imo. knocked out, no way. vitali did'nt hit him with anything that could have dropped him. frustration is a bitch.
...Well, it's Sam Peter not Sam Peters. I hate when people don't get that. Anyway, the open scoring had nothing to do with the quitting. Duva said after the fight that they knew they were behind 8-0 anyway so the open scoring didn't mean shit. His own promoter didn't use the open scoring as an excuse so get off of that shit.
I actually think from the 4th round onwards Peter's punchers chance was gone. Vitali could have just nailed him with right hands without even bothering with jabs. Peter was that bad.
Peter was definitely that bad, I mean an inactive fighter like Vitali could see peter's punches coming alway the way because he was slower than a lawnmower.
I doubt it. Peter showed a tremendous chin and he took a lot of heavy rights all night. Punches that would have KO'ed most heavies.
That being said I think that the ref would have stopped it in a few rounds, but I cannot see Peter be counted out.
Probably not in the 9th round but he would have been KO eventually.....Am surprise he wasnt KO in the first round after watching the fight now.

Peter was awful he should not have even bothered getting in the ring to be honest he didn't even try and press the action.
I think if there was no open scoring BULLSHIT, then he wouldn't have quit at all.

I would never defend open scoring, but no sane person would think that Peter wasn't hopelessly behind on points. His promoter Dino Duva said as much on Showtime tonight.

WORD. I can't STAND the open scoring system.....
And I think Peter was on his way out.
I don't think he would have been ko'd in the 9th had he come out for the that round.More than likely he would have just kept taking a beating cuz I don't think that he would have turned it around with a single punch cuz of Vitali's very solid chin.It is possible that Vitali could have stopped him on his feet in the next round or two but there is no way of knowing that.
Vitali looked like he was just taking his own good time punishing him for all the smack Peter talked leading up to the fight. He might have loaded up and went for it in the 9th though if Peter didn't quit.
