Because a severely ring rusty Vitali isn't going to rope a dope Peter.
I also don't think there will be anything "magical" about that fight.

I love the way you put that in there lol, I guess you're a hater who is trying to take away from a vitali victory (According to tunney).
As soon as the fight is over I'm bumping my thread regardless of the result. lol. We'll get a nice closer look at him.
It's interesting because Vitali was the man and Peter despite being 42 has people believing he is the future of the division.

I've never met anyone who thought Klitschko was better than Lewis LOL.
I agree that this would have been a much more significant fight say three years ago when Peter had a lot more hype and Klitschko was active. I don't care, this fight is better than no fight at all.
For the record, I am picking Klitschko.
This is Exactly how i feel about the fight and 98% of fights at HW.
I think it will end up being another disappointment too but I'm hoping that their styles will clash in a good way. The heavyweight division hasn't had a good match-up in a while.
Peter coming forward, taking a ton of punishment from Vitali who is not afraid to take it as well to land his combinations... I'm hoping for something like that. I doubt it though.
If the fight lasts more than 6 rounds, it could get ugly.
That was really my initial point, but I guess I could see the importance of this fight in regards to the current HW division. However the surrounding hype is equivalent to some Mega/Super fights that did in fact live up to their circus that preceded them.
Looking at the mechanics here, it seems technically infeasible to have an aesthetically pleasing fight between these two.........Unless it turned into a pier 6 brawl with Vitali's suspect conditioning being a factor.
Even at that would it make for a compelling/dramatic fight? Or would both guys lean on each other and get sloppy? I think the later.
I don't mean to be a pessimist I just think people are getting way too excited over a fight that won't be that fun to watch. Plain and simple.
Yeah but ok is hasn't got the importance of Rumble In The Jungle ot Thrilla in Manilla but don't you think its good a heavyweight fight is getting some propa hype this time , makes it more exciting of a fight, than everyone just not being interested
Well for a start i love all boxing really, and i don't think no one's treated like Rumble in the Jungle, I just think everyone wants to Vitali back in the ring, both are exciting fighters and both can punch, its a world title fight. And plus you have a really interesting battle of the southpaws in Tarver Dawson a young up and comer trying to make his name in dawson against a young at heart crafty vetran in Tarver. Should be good can't wait!!!

not sure where your getting the hype idea from. its not exactly on ppv with steady reports from espn. maybe on this website it seems hyped but its pretty typical when an interesting heavyweight fight gets near
What channel and when is this fight on?

I see this fight getting very sloppy as the rounds progress. It is imperative that Peter continue to put pressure on Klitschko because if he does he can wear him down. I just think we're going to see Peter walk straight in like he always does and get hit with right hands.
I'm probably going to agree with you in full here.

Both of their styles are too ugly and awkward to be "aesthetically pleasing".
But they may still have a sloppy entertaining fight.
That would be good enough.
Hell, Ali-Foreman was kinda sloppy and ugly too.
True but I think the Quality of the two involved was deserved the hype.

People are just hoping for an entertaining HW title bout.
But you have to forgive the Klit-Lickers for getting overexcited. After all, they act like Brittley's losing effort against an undertrained, old, inactive Lewis was something brilliant. It couldn't touch Tim Witherspoon's losing effort against a closer-to-prime Larry Holmes with a 10-foot Golota.
Hell, it doesn't come close to Ray Mercer going just about even after 10 to a PRIME Lennox Lewis.
Because the Heavyweight division is so poor fans are looking for any kind of excitement, Vitali Klitschko was arguably the best Heavyweight since Lennox Lewis, and some people believe he is even better. Then you have Samuel Peter the banger who never stops coming forward who is one of the best Heavyweights at the moment, hence why we have so much hype. I just hope these guys can live up to the hype because i don't think they will.
