who wins this fight between these two young hungry olympians. vanes has the height and a pretty solid jab but angulo has all the tools you look for in a pressure fighter. they both pack a punch but i think angulo cracks harder. i predict angulo by ud or late stoppage. even though vanes has more fights he only fights bums imo, angulo last few fights hes been in there with some really tough fighters. what do you guys think? the sw divison is full of young prospects jc chavez, kirkland, julio, martinez, ect. i hope they fight for the sake of boxing.
who has a better chin?
that too is close... they are both solid.
Vanes has been down just once in 21 fights... a flash knock down where he sad on his ass for no more than 2 or 3 seconds... got back up, and finished off his opponent with a KO. Other than that, ive seen him take some nasty shots and not even shake... even during tough sparring with Hopkins, Karmazin, Ikeke...
Not sure if Angulo has been down or not but his chin seems solid.
who has a better chance of getting a ko?
Vanes packs just about the same even power as Angulo... so both of them, with a slight edge to Angulo perhaps, although he will not find Vanes with the total ease he found Tsurkan with.
good point but i still think angulo has fought some tough fighters. i like vanes though the kid has a world of talent but he has to fight a real live fighter at some point. but yeah him and angulo could go either way thats why i want to see it but right now im leaning toward angulo. But your right though vanes can box i wanna see um in there with another prospect soon though.
they are workin on a solid opponent for January when Vanes will likely be on the Margo/Mosley undercard
I wouldnt mind seein him fight the undefeated John Duddy...
Vanes is fighting Howe next who went 10 Rounds with Duddy
Duddy is fighting Munoz next who Vanes KOd in 3.
should be interest to compare them both.

i've seen angulo a total of 3 fights and i haven't seen vanes fight. Angulo punches with anger and seems to have no regard for human life.:boxing:
also seems to have no regard for boxing skills and speed ;)
watch Vanes NOV 1st on PPV!

check past threads.. Vanes and Angulo have been discussed quite a bit here as well as other Top Prospects in the Jr. Middle division
I personally see Vanes winning a UD against Angulo simply by outboxing him and being too fast for Angulo.
Angulo's matchmakers have been masterminds thus far only pairing him up against brawlers that will come forward and fall into the Angulo trap.... a guy that can box a bit like Vanes shouldn't have too much trouble edging out a decision win.
Others to watch for in the division...
James Kirkland
Yuri Foreman
JC Chavez Jr
Mean Joe Greene
all of whom remain undefeated
