Had to say under 29 cuz Chagaev is 29 and he would be hands down Sam Peter is 28 but hey you guys mind if we leave the two title-holders out? I'm talkin up and comers who have title shots in front of them or behind em. Guys who have the talent and ability to get a few titles in their career. I think it could be Eddie Chambers if he got more power and mental stability in the ring. Dimitrenko if he can stand up to more powerful punches since he seems to have somewhat of a weak chin. Arreola if the dude can keep his weight down and his work rate up, watch out for Boystov comin from East Europe, dude has some skill there. I think Walker could be a great contender if he can beat Arreola but he might not even do that. Estrada was a good Olympian but hasn't shown much power with the professionals and I don't think he'll be anything. JD Chapman, David Rodgriguez and Donnell Holmes don't make the list cuz they haven't fought anybody in their careers and I have no idea when they will.......Typical American Heavies
Johnson hasn't beaten anybody either
Have you seen Oleg Platov vs Danny Williams??
It was a very exciting 4 round slugfest that ended in a no contest
Johnson/Platov would be a good fight....could go either way
Man you gonna make me watch a Williams fight? Haven't watched him since Vitali castrated him and Harrison beat him. If I can find it I'll try and watch it, I've seen Platov highlight videos. They probably will never meet, hope Kingpin can get a fight with a top 20 dude now.
Platov wouldn't be able to hold Johson, he'd jab that ass to a UD. Platov ain't fought nobody, and he lost to a nobody shit happens.

3. Denis Boystov
4. Eddie Chambers
5. Chris Arreola
6. Odlanier Solis
7. OLEG PLATOV
8. David Haye
**** Kevin Johnson

Who voted for Chambers? And how? Povetkin beat him... when Povetkin was sick!
Clearly Povetkin IMO.
Donald, Byrd and Chambers are so extremely good names for a fighter with 16 fights.

3. Denis Boystov
4. Eddie Chambers

Really wish Dimitrenko and Haye fight after they do away wit Barrett and Krasniqi. Both will be very high in WBO rankings and the winner should fight Wlad mid-late 09 as the mandatory WBO bout. Haye I think will take out Dimitrenko's suspect chin with his hard combos, Dimitrenko got some problems from Hoffmann and will get much more if he fights Haye.
Dimitrenko's chin has been tested and checked out OK, it's not the likes of Holyfield, Vitali or Sanders, but it'll do. I see Dimitrenko giving Haye A LOT of problems and most probably winning the fight by TKO in late rounds.
Dimitrenko is the best prospect out there today. Boytsov is up there but he's yet to face any top 50 competition and only time will show. He's got it, he just hasn't been tested yet.
I have said since the very start of his pro career that Alexander Povetkin is extremely overreated. He brings so little to the table. Arreola would stop him around round 8. Dimentreko is the best fighter on that list. He is one of two fighters that beat Arreola. People are going to look at me funny, but even though he's not as good of a fighter, Kevin Johnson UDs Arreola. Styles make fights and Johnson boxes too well and keeps distance with that great jab. I have not seen Boystov so keep that in mind.
Eddie Chambers has peaked. You can clearly see the level he can beat and the level he will lose against. He just doesn't have it in him to move his hands enough. Solis is a short, slow, chubby, near feather fisted heavyweight. He is more overrated than Povetkin even. Haye just gets hurt too easily by shots. Unless he pulls a Cotto and was only getting hurt due to weight drain (which I doubt), he will not be a significant figure past his first real test as entertaining as he may be. I don't know how to rank these fighters because styles make fights and there is no clear path of who would beat who, but I think Dimentreko is overall the best followed by Arreola. Again, though, I have not seen Boystov.
Also, Johnson is 29 just fyi, but I know the year thing wasn't meant to be a clear cut off for the poll and you were just quizzing on potential up and coming heavies.
Didn't know that my fault. Kingpin gettin up in dem years, dude started his career kind of late. Hope he fights a good opponent soon like Rahman or Tua and also I heard he might take on Chapman but I doubt it will happen

I'd go with Arreola at this point...Povetkin is NOT ready for Wlad and could get ruined. Imagine if Arreola was ripped every one would be on his nutz. Even when he weighed 230 for Chazz he still looked a littled chubby that is just his body type. He will never look fit or ripped now matter how he trains or eats he just has that body type. The man has an extensive amateur background and has been fighting since he was a little kid so I think he's prepared the only question about Arreola at this point is he dedicated enough to wanna be the Heavyweight Champion of the world. Why would anyone vote for Haye he hasn't even fought at Heabyweight yet so RELAX with the Haye talk
C'mon man Tomaz Bonin! Garry Delaney! Valery Semishkur! These are guys who will be heavyweight champions one day.

Good poll, but I think that Povetkin is a nobrainer. David Haye only has one heavyweight fight, Arreola is still very unproven and to be honest, I don't think he is all that good. Nobody else on that list has even remotely come close to stepping up.
Povetkin and Arreola are running away with the poll
Let's compare the resumes:
Alexander Povetkin
- Olympic Gold Medalist
- Legendary Amatuer career
- dominated and TKO'd former heavyweight champ Chris Byrd
- clearly beat Eddie Chambers
- shutout Larry Donald
Povetkin has accomplished a lot in only 16 pro fights
Chris Arreola
- best win is over clubfighter Chazz Witherspoon
- beat some other bums
- won the California pie eating contest
Povetkin >>>>>>>>>>>>> Arreola
