They were going on and on and on about Bunemas resume about fighting everyone there is in the division. Then they say Martinez has fought Margarito when he was unknown. And they said the Bunema fight was the hardest of his career so far.
Terrible, they must have forgot the beating Margarito gave him that night. He himself is still fearing a rematch.
Anyways...
Martinez looked amazing tonight. He gained a new fan tonight. I loved his skills and speed in the ring and punches from all angles.
I see a fight with that sergei guy, unification in Germany if he can get past Joel Julio
Stop being hypocrites. The fact is that Margarito didnt fight this version of Martinez. When they fought, Martinez only had 16 fights and had only been in boxing for 4 years. Its just like Margarito isnt the same guy who lost early in his career and Pac isnt the same guy who got KO twice by nobodies.
You say that he has to beat Margarito to be a star but yet when Margarito hadnt fought nobody, you guys were still trying to call him a star. He's also definatly not scared of Margarito like the OP said. I just read a article where he says that he would love to fight Forrest next or a Margarito rematch. He gave Margarito respect for beating him but he said that he was just 4 years in and a rematch would be totally different.
Stop acting like Margarito KO this guy. That would be like those guys who beat Margarito saying that they would still knock him out and he has to prove himself against them. Im not saying that Margarito wont beat him or even knock him out again but he didnt face this guy. Its just like the NFL when Strahan said that the Giants didnt play this Redskins team. They werent ready to play at a high level in game 1 but there kicking butt now. Its the same thing in this case. Also, I highly doubt that HBO was dissing Margarito. If there's anyone who's on Margarito's jock, its HBO. Please dont try to play them like there Margarito haters because no one is going to buy that
Nobody ever called Tony a star, just a very serious threat to any fighter at 147.

Margarito only had a couple years more pro experience than Sergio at the time. Martinez was a much better boxer than Margarito then and probably still is now but that won't stop Tony from just walking through Sergio again and cracking him across the chin to lay him out.
That's the problem when you are a slick boxer with an average chin, power, & stamina. You may land 3 for every 1 that Margarito lands but in the end you will still get KTFO as he runs you into the ground.
However, his WBC title shot is long overdue and I fully expect him to outpoint an older fighter like Forrest when he gets his chance.

haha, they didn't say a negative word about Margarito. After years of Margs being suspended in obscurity, it's great for him that they're even talking about him at all. And they were praising him, not selling him short.
they also said a star is born in Linares, and he basically just vanished from the face of the earth. Linares's management should be killed.
Kill his management for Linares being injured?
Martinez vs. Bunema did look a lot like Calzaghe vs. Lacy by times.
I was just as impressed with Sergio Martinez as they were. He'd defeat Phillips or Forrest, I reckon.
Now that u mentioned it, a Forrest fight would be great.
I didn't really hear them dogging on Margarito. In fact I heard them praise him a few times in the Angulo fight. Angulo fights basically just like him, but with straighter punches. El Perro is just a beast.

And idk what ur talkin about Texan, i didnt hear them once dog Margarito, they were constantly building Margarito up i thought. They were saying Margarito was unknown at the time because... HE WAS UNKOWN at the time. They constantly mentioned "what he would eventually turn out to be"
I was suprised at how much they where hyping him up,yeh he looked slick, but Bunema isnt a champ, and he isnt nowhere near as good as they where making him out to be
Kellerman said A STAR IS BORN,imo, how the hell is that? By beating BUNEMA? He can be a star when he avenges his loss to Margarito, which i think he has no chance of doing, and the beating he put on Bunema wasnt close to what Angulo did to Tsurkan, and Tsurkan is the better fighter by miles
lol they said a star was born in Katsidis and look what happened. :twak:
