He REALLY WAS injured.
If he agreed to fight Zuniga, he couldn't have been ducking Froch, because Zuniga is more dangerous an opponent than Froch.
You're forgetting, everyone ducks Carl Froch.
Nonsense.. he ducked Froch 2wice.. he is NO champion

Prior to the fight, these were the WBO SMW rankings:
1 Karoly Balzsay (Int-Cont) HUN
2 Jermain Taylor USA
3 Denis Inkin RUS
4 Andre Ward (NABO) USA
5 Fulgencio Zuñiga COL
6 Victor Oganov (Asia-Pacific) RUS
7 Andre Dirrell USA
The names in bold are the current top 5 contenders, following Inkin's win last night. Any chance we'll ever see him fight ANY of them???
EDIT: Here are the guys ranked 5-10 by the WBO (following last night's fight), doubt we'll see Inkin fight any of them either:
8 Allan Green USA
9 Jean Paul Mendy FRA
10 Jean Pascal CAN
11 Carl Froch GB
12 Librado Andrade MEX
Wow, is Balzsay really ranked that high? I suppose taking a fight with Oganov would be a big domestic dust-up and should bring him good money in his homeland, other then that, i don't see him being champ for very long at all. I'd like to see Ward step up his competition and take it to the big boys in 09.

Kessler usually spars a lot. In preparation for Andrade and Sartison Kessler went 120+ sparring rounds.
Maybe I'm a dumbass, but any fighter will tell you that the most important sparring you get is in the last 2-3 weeks. Kessler had nought in that timeframe pre-Calzaghe.
but how can you say with conviction a guy who lost a wide decision (117-111) would win if he had more sparring.
if anything he should have got better as the fight went on (more accuracy) but he didnt, calzaghe took him to the cleaners.
dont say stupid things.
kessler doesnt spar much either
That's bullshit
Inkin was seriously injured and he had to pull out of the fight
Inkin would beat the shit out of the overrated Froch
Take you tongue out of Inkins arse boy !
Dogs like arse holes, your not a dog are you?
So if Inkin was 'seriously injured' - how come the first time he told everyone he was suffering with a virus ?
His 'bad back' only appeared the second time.
The fact of the situation is, Inkin is a joker. A clown who would have been smoked in Nottingham. He beffuddled his way past Zuniga on the undercard of an undercard of an undercard.
Nobody gives a crap about him - and the WBC smelled a rat a dropped him down their list faster than any other fighter i've seen ranked.
He will join the other WBO bums and will make at least 5 defences against his crummy stable mates like Karo Murat, Mario Veit, Karol Balzup etc.
He is destined to spend the next 5 years earning his corn fighting nobodies on undercards.
The truth hurts, but his greatest achievement would have been sharing a ring with Froch and getting his skull crushed.
He is a yellow, excuse ridden coward who will stay at home forever.
Infact, that makes him an ideal replacement for Calzaghe don't it ?
batt ur a dumbass.
kessler didnt fight with a broken hand he just sparred less because of it, if you actually read his website he says sparring isnt a big part of his training regime anyway and weights are.
kessler was beaten fairly by calzaghe (117-111) what the **** are you on about.

Give Kessler credit for that. He didn't give any excuses. Only I, as a fan, did. Kessler said that the hand didn't give him problems in the fight as it had been 'treated'.
Kessler had surgery on the right hand following the fight. The fightwriter Grahm Houston wrote about in his preview of the Sartison fight and there is pic's from the hospital on Kessler's homepage.

Kessler has the better resume right now
Mundine, Beyer, Andrade, Siacca >>> 40 year old Glen Johnson (tons of people had Johnson winning the fight), weight drained Adamek and washed up Harding
Weight drained Adamek? lol. Show me one round where he looked even tired, he was in great physical condition. If he was weight drained, then how did he have the energy to floor Chad in the 10th and was bringing non stop pressure for those last two rounds? If he was weight drained, then why didn't he alert the media before or after the fight was over and say that? After the fight was over, he even admitted that he had no excuses, and that Dawson was simply the better fighter and was too fast for him. I have another one, if he was weight drained, then how come just a few months earlier he had a non stop war with Paul Briggs? I didn't see anything wrong with him other than Dawson's hand speed that baffled him.
About the resume. Andrade was never a champion, and i personally don't know who Siacca is, but i heard from many Kessler fans on ESB that both of them were past their prime and Beyer was even seen as shot. Johnson beat Jones, Tarver and Woods all in the same year, on top of being on the pound for pound list at one time, and going judging by his performance against Dawson, clearly he wasn't shot. Adamek just stopped last year's undisputed cruiser weight champion, O'Neil Bell and Eric Harding was the first to beat Tarver, and while clearly past his prime when he fought Chad, he was still a top 10 light heavyweight at the time.
Johnson fought a great fight, but he didn't win. I unbiasedly scored the fight one point for Dawson. Johnson was a top 3 light heavyweight at the time as well.
I just didn't hear about it after the fight on any major boxing news sites before or after, other than fans. I'm not calling anyone a liar, but i simply don't buy it. I didn't see anything noticeably wrong. Ever since that body shot that hurt him mid rounds, he was on the retreat and was being out boxed. I actually picked him to beat Calzaghe and i remain one of his fans so i have nothing against him, but i didn't stop seeing him using his left.

Kessler has a long history of back- and handproblems. Kessler didn't tell about the handissue and the non-sparring before the fight for fear of Calzaghe/Warren not wanting to postpone considering the difficulty Kessler had luring Joe in the ring in the first place.
An injuryfree Kessler would beat Joe.

Kessler didn't bring his hand problem up after the fight, and he seemed to use it without any problems, he was just intimidated and IMO, its just as excuse for his poor showing. Why in all of the fights in world, THIS is the one where he broke his hand? He never had any hand problems in the past from what i remember.
Kessler is very talented and COULD be the next man at super middleweight after Joe retires, but he hasn't beaten anyone and Dawson has even beaten better quality fighters than he has and he only has about 27 fights, plus he shows intimidation when things aren't going his way. Counting against a weak chin to fail will not always work, especially when you have a 6'3 physically strong light heavyweight that has shown that he could survive an onslaught, by smartly tying up and he has the ability to escape because of the good physical condition that he is in. Look at every fight he was hurt in, he has always came back effectively at the end of those very same rounds. I remember you saying that Johnson would stop Dawson, and look what happened?

Kessler broke his hand before the Calzaghe fight and he couldn't train....even though he lost, he still had a good showing and landed poweful combinations, hurting Calzaghe a few times.
Calzaghe has a very good chin....Those shots that Kessler landed would've KO'd most SMW's and LHW's
Your boy Dawson is talented, but he is very chinny and has lousy defense, he is too susceptible to right hands...Kessler would land one of his big combinations and knock Dawson out

That's funny considering Kessler could not school Calzaghe, who has no power and intimated and ''schooled'' him on skill alone. Dawson is a better boxer on the outside than Joe is, punches a lot harder and is naturally bigger with a longer reach. He better hopes Tarver lucks up and beats Dawson, because Kessler is definitely not beat Chad. Hes not good enough.
