Pav-Hop and Calz-Jones should be the most competitive...
Most unpredicatble would be Shane-Mayorga
and most Predictable Oscar-Pac
I can't wait for this fight tonight. I want to see knockdowns!
It will only be entertaining if you like dela hoya. Pacquiao fans wont like this fight at all.
Probably, I think casual fans would enjoy it the most though.
wow. i reserve the right to NOT VOTE. It's incredible, all of those fights are either irrelevant for boxing as a sport (age difference, questionable fitness of participants) or horrible mismatches (Hoya vs Pacquiao stands out here, and also relates to the first factor i pointed out).
I am a big big fan of boxing and if i was to buy any of those fights i would prolly buy Pavlik and Jones as they are among my favorites, but i will force myself once again to abstain buying these. Remember the rule of the market (boxing is just a big business, not really a sport as these matches demonstrate) "if you buy crap, crap becomes good", and they will make utter crap the new standard. This is why your fathers had prime Tyson on free tv and you have to pay to watch 40 year olds fight in "mega-fights". While it's a good thing people like Bernard or Jones can make money a little longer, you are the ones filling their pockets and paying for their retirement after those fights. Or not, because at this rate i see Bernard at least becoming a stepping stone for young crappy fighters (not Pavlik, he's really good) in the future...
I think DLH-Pacquiao would be the most entertaining while it lasts.

No question about it, the fight that carries the most meaning is Bhop Pavlik.
Shane and Mayorga are both well past their primes and its more of a charity fight than anything.
Same thing with RJJ and Calzaghe (if Calz is really retiring, and unless RJJ somehow pulls an upset out of his ass).
Oscar vs Pac is going to be really one-sided in terms of Vegas odds. Even if Oscar wins, he was supposed to. And Manny was supposed to lose as well.
Pav is in his prime, and whether or not he can get past Bhop has huge consequences and answers a ton of questions. Everyone has questioned whether or not Pavlik has the ability to adjust midfight and if he is one dimensional. Bhop is the gatekeeper to those questions. Pavlik is in his prime unlike all the other fighters, which means he will have to own upto the results if he fails.
Shane vs Mayorga should bring the best action, and be the best in my book in that respect. As far as being competetive, I would say Hopkins vs Pavlik. Pavlik should win, but Hopkins never loses by much.
There are lots of big fights left in 2008
Vitali Klitschko vs Samuel Peter
Wladimir Klitschko vs Alexander Povetkin
Ricky Hatton vs Paulie Malignaggi
Chad Dawson vs Antonio Tarver
Tomasz Adamek vs Steve Cunningham
By the way would you like to bet on haye ?
Shane vs Mayorga?
Hopkins vs Pavlik?
Jones vs Calzaghe?
Oscar vs Pacquiao?I dont wanna vote cause i think that all of the above are gonna be great :boxing:
from a boxing fans point of view we are all being spoiled by some of the great fights we have had this year and are gonna have coming up !:burnout:
i would of added Haye-barrett.
Not a huge fight. Unproven vs. unfulfilled.

All of those actually are pretty good fights, but...
I think the thread starter was just listing the HBO PPVs left for the year.
The last big 4??

While those are all great fights, the fights I mentioned are the biggest money fights (all PPV, less Mosley vs Mayorga). They also include 4 of the greatest fighters of the last decade, Oscar, Shane, Bernard & Roy. It's nearly the end of the road for these guys and they all got fights one month after each other, closing out a great year of boxing.
