I am sorry, but does Beating Andy Kolle signify greatness?

Margarito won though. Just like Williams beat Margarito. And Williams lost to Quintana. i know he won but you talk about those fights like if margarito was dominating. margarito's toughest opponents at 147 are williams,cotto and clottey and i think all 3 of them were winning the fight

I guess you missed the Cotto fight. Or maybe the Clottey fight. Not greatness, but he's a champ. Him and PWill will get it on. Bet on it. the cotto and clottey fight in which margarito is getting hit with more clean punches than his opponents? the clottey fight is in no way a dominate performace for margarito that fight could of went either way and i honestly thought clottey won that fight, some of the judges gave margarito most of the early rounds and imo rounds 1-5 were definite clottey rounds

I don't understand the degrading of Margarito. Doing that tears Williams down because that was his best win. And it was a close fight. Take that away and he's one big question mark who took two tries to beat Carlos Quintana. It's fair to keep things in perspective - they are both excellent fighters and the two will meet again hopefully. Either way, it doesn't matter--Williams is here for the long haul and will earn his due soon enough.

According to Margarito fans it does, But its not great that Paul Williams went up 2 weight classes and knocked a real middleweight out regardless if he wasnt a top 10 contender. No, Margarito move up before but getting his ass kicked at 154.. Plus Margarito ain't interested in a Williams rematch.. He's look for Oscar, Moslet and a Cotto rematch.. Marge doesn't have that one punch KO power at WW so I don't think he could have done what Paul did to Kolle. Could I see him KOing him later in the fight yes, but I don't know about the first round.

Well he's got a point in that Marg beats his opponents down more so than 1 punch KOs. It's not like Cotto wasn't known to be chinny going into the bout LoL. I know a lot of Cotto has a glass chin haters, love to downplay it now since Margarito won. But the fact remains, Cotto was always chinny and we knew that going into the bout. But I'm not sure it was so much the headshots that did him in than the body shots. I think the highwork rate and the bodyshots are what really took Cotto down because he wasn't effected by the head shots directly until he couldn't see them coming due to the angles and workrate.
