Like I said, If these boxers (Concepcion, Laurente, Viloria and Jaro) display mediocrity just like the ALA boys, I'll never criticize ALA gym ever again. EVER.
Well, 3 wins and a loss isn't a bad record. Jaro may have lost but he made a good account of himself in his first try at a title, making the slick Mexican kiss the canvas in front of his fans! If that was an ALA boy fighting, he would have been KOed in the first round or worse, QUIT!
Told you, ALA = Mediocre. There are BETTER Filipino prospects outside that over-hyped gym.

damn viloria was a monster back in the day now he cant even ko a bum Solis sould make quick work of him
He'll get his grove back. Almost killing a guy definitely changed his ways.
Well, Save for one Filipino fighter whose opponent reportedly pulled out on the last minute, the guys that fought in Sycuan all won. Laurente via TKO, Viloria via UD and Concepcion via KO. Hope Sonny Boy Jaro delivers this weekend against Sosa.
:fing02:
dont wanna bet this because im going for jaro but i predict sosa KOs him. jaro hasnt fought anybody and has been KOd 4 times.
How can one be KOed 4 times without fighting anybody? He at least fought 4 boxers to get KOed 4 times :D
Tell you what.. If Jaro wins I win 5K, and if Sosa can give Jaro at least an 8-count you win 10K deal? :D
On Thursday night, NABF Champ Bernabe Concepcion, former Champ Brian Viloria, and prospects Mercito Gesta and Dennis Laurente will be up against Mexican tests down at Sycuan Resort and Casino. On Saturday night at Mexico City, Sonny Boy Jaro will have his fist crack at a world title vs. Edgar Sosa - a fighter who has KOed 3 of his last 4 assignments, defending his WBC belt. This is Mexico vs. Philippines all over again.
All these fighters are not from ALA gym of Cebu. Will they fare better than fighter from the oft hyped World Class Cebu-based gym /promoter who keep bragging that they have in their folds the next Manny Pacquiao? We will know this week.
I have been very critical of ALA and their boxers, this is a good gauge for people to see if I am just talking shit, or if I actually am telling the truth that there are indeed a lot of better Filipino fighters than the overrated ALA prospects. Note that of the five, Concepcion and Viloria are probably the only ones with name recall and nobody gives Jaro much chance of an upset over Sosa - Ronnie Nathanielsz even wrote that Sonny Boy Jaro needs to KO Sosa to win in Mexico.

I bet Sosa doesn't KO or even knock down Jaro...any takers? :439:

Mercito Gesta is Cebuano...i think. Viloria is an Ilocano, Jaro is Ilonggo, Laurente is Waray and Concepcion is Bicolano.
..and yes Chups, they are all bums.:D
that guarantees a belt.
bicolanos rule!!!!!!!!

Jaro's fist is bigger than Sosa's and Sosa's face is bigger than Jaro's Let's see if Jaro can hit the target with his big ammo. :D
are they cebuanos?

i noticed two pinoy young fighters are being led to the slaughter this Friday in Thailand. Both young guys are fighting Thai pro's with a ton of experience.
When will these mismatches stop?
12 super bantamweight Sod Looknongyangtoy 38 (17) - 2 (1) - 0
vs Donriel Marcos 9 (1) - 1 (1) - 0
bout subject to commission approval / change
featherweight Terdsak Jandaeng 30 (20) - 3 (1) - 1
vs Eric Macas 3 (1) - 1 (1) - 0
Old Story. These fights should be exposed by Pacland/Philboxing (instead of concentrating on hyping ALA fighters) so that their respective managers/promoters can be questioned by the Philippines' Games and Amusement Board...sadly, the Philippines have been importing tuktuk drivers in Thailand as well, mostly fed to the ALA boys to pad their records. :lol1:
I wonder how they got permits from the Board in the first place.:purity:
