The issues surrounding the difficulty getting a top fight. David Haye is a very geniune guy. Someone like Monte Barret asking for a big day, he's taking the piss isn't he?
If i remember rightly Haye made about £700,000 for the Enzo fight, outside of that he made less than £100,000 for the Mormeck fight. I would like Haye to fight Barrett.
I never knew it was that much, but you'd imagine he isn't playing with telephone numbers. 100,000 sweet english pounds seems to be budget for th opposition. If Barret has turned that down, then he is a doofus.
I think Haye needs to beat someone decent at heavyweight before he talks about future opponents. I remember Audley was all about fighting this or that strap holder before he got put to sleep.
Audley is a pussy though.
Haye should fight Audley. It's a shame their friends.
the thing is, Haye has more star power than his team has money. I think alot of these guys think they are going to earn big money. David Haye hasn't even earned big money yet, I'm not sure what he got for Macca but I'd imagine it can't of exceeded about £150,000. He's in a difficult situation I think. He also doesn't want to have a disastrous Khan/Prescott type match up.

Most of the people I mentioned will accept the fight for the money offered. Ahunyana's manager told us in another forum he will gladly do it. Kevin and Monte said they'll do it for the money, and I'm sure Timor, who was paid peanuts for his last two fights, would jump at the chance.
Haye said that Monte wants big money.
And the other side of the coin Tunney is that this fight has to sell out the O2 Arena in London. Therefore it probably has to be an American, as the casual boxing fan identifies with a UK/USA rivalry even if it is bogus and unfair, like Haye vs Chapman.
Haye wants a soft opponent like clubfighter Cahpman or age 47 Mercer.
He should fight a decent opponent like Barrett, Thompson, or Chambers, or perhaps Johnson, Ahunyana, or T. Ibragimov.
He said he'ds fighting a top 10 heavyweight. Neither Chapman nor Mercer are in BoxRec's top 100 - no knowledgeable boxing fan would put either in their top 50.
