If I was Nate Campbell I would be seriously pissed off.
After ten or so weeks of training, and working his arse off to get into the best shape possible for arguably the most difficult fight of his career, his opponent fails to make weight. What the hell was Guzman thinking?
While Nate has had an up and down career, he has still is one of the best boxers in the lightweight division and has the honours to prove it, Guzman can't boast such acheivements. A win over Soto and Barrios does not warrant a shot for three lightweight titles in a division he was not even fought in. How does he repay the opportunity given to him? By failing to make weight for a fight very few boxers ever get to compete in. In a phrase, he is a disgrace.
Yes, Campbell is a loud mouth, but at least he is within the weight limit and is a model professional. After mentally and physically preparing for this fight and getting the chance to add another great name on his resume, he gets kicked in the teeth like this. I just hope he sends Guzman, and his career into the gutter tonight by beating seven shades of shit out of him.
I'm going with Guzman on this one I want him to suceed, he moved uop in weight, and I want him to put himself in postion for the next round of this Lightweight tourtenment.
Um... he actually needs to make weight to be considered a lightweight. He is closer to the junior welterweight limit than the lightweight limit.
Where did you get that logic? L0l A lot of people wants to see Guzman getting Knockout because he just blew out the opportunity of winning 3 belts and becoming a superstar at lightweight.. This is the fight of your life and Campbell killed himself of making weight and Guzman didn't bother of losing the 3 pounds.. That's how disgraceful he is of not making an effort..
Look at all the posters, not just pointing things out without using that brain of yours which I doubt if you really have a brain.
Your post is so dumb I wasn't going to respond but someone needs to give you a clue.
First of all, the three belts aren't gonna make him a superstar. Nate Campbell holds all three belts--is he a superstar? NO. So what do you mean he blew his chance? Pacquiao fought the weakest beltholder and skated out of there. And he's a star. Belts...superstar...no correlation, genius.
The only thing Guzman blew was the opportunity to have three titles. With all due respect...who the fuck cares? Guzman may have helped or hurt himself by not making weight (we'll see tonight) - I don't know and it's obvious you don't. So spare us the "he didn't bother to lose three pounds" like you actually monitored him after the weigh-in.
It's Guzman's cross, not yours. Sometimes it works out for the good (see Corrales-Castillo II) and other times for bad (see the rest of Castillo's career). Either way, I don't know what effort he put in. But I do know that even before the weigh-in there have been a lot of Pac fans who are dying to see him get KO'ed. Maybe you're one. If you aren't, stop speaking for them.

don't worry. nate will beat the shit out of him tonight.
Who wants to see him get KO'ed? A lot of Pacquaio fans, I think. Why? I guess cuz he wants to fight Manny? IDK.
Anyway, Guzman should be lauded for fighting the Soto's and Campbell's of the world - we need more fighters like him, instead of fighters trying to protect their undefeated records.
That said, it is absolutely disgraceful that he failed to make weight. This guy balloons to ridiculous levels when he's not training and these bad habits will catch up to him. Maybe tonight.
It was very dis-respectful of Joan to not bother going back like that. But i do not want him to lose, i root for both men and hope the best man wins at the end of the night.

Good post!:fing02:
Nate is indeed a true professional!
I'm rooting for Campbell also just because Joan has turned into the next Mayweather Jr. in his style. He used to be a devastating puncher in the lighter weights, and now has completely changed into more of a hit and run type of fighter. This TRUELY pissed me off vs Soto because Soto is a fucking MAN. He wants to take your heart and beat your ass in exchanges to prove whose the real man in the ring. Guzman would have none of that. So now he's up against a similar style opponent and gets scared he's too small so he doesn't make weight. He deserves to get fucking beat down but I doubt it'll happen. I think Guzman will hop on his bicycle and deliver newspaper shots at Nate while he moves in circles. LAME!

:grumpy: I was hoping we could have some fun in the lead up to the fight..
..no homo..
Well, we'll see. I've said such things before and failed to curb my addiction.
I'm rooting for Campbell also, though I won't mind if Guzman wins. Its all good. I'm skipping the stay-up-late party though. It's damaging my health!

I'm rooting for Campbell, even before this weight shit I was.
