Seriously. This guy has problems. He is way way overweight. I think he is obesed. He weighed in at like 252 i think for the fight today which he won tko 1 over Chad Van Sickle. He needs to lose a good 20 pounds.
He's living the life, i don't blame him but his career is going nowhere really. i don't buy the idea that he'd be a definite champion if he was in shape either.
He's a prospect whose media coverage is inversely proportional to the quality of his performances.
He is 20-25lbs overwheight, thought not a problem because he still fighting tomato cans.
I wonder if he will be able to shed those 20lbs when the real fighting begins. Then those extra pounds will really become a problem, as it will interfere with his speed and stamina.
Solis needs to get down to about 230 or even mid 220s, he was way too heavy against Van Sickle.
Off topic but I'm looking forward to seeing the ex-Cuban amateur Erislandy Lara fight again, he looks very solid as a professional so far.
He definitely needs to get at least down to 235, seriously 256? Last time I checked he had a conditioning coach who got him down to 245 I think, but that was awhile ago. As long as he keeps winning I mean it's not too important now but when he fights someone who actually matters it will be. He's more overweight then Samuel Peter but hey at least he's no James Toney. If he can get down to 235, he can get a title in a few years say 2010 is Odlanier's year to get a title.
Solis is Solis, but he's damn good, hope he steps it up in 09, i think he can make some noise in this sorry ass HW division.......
Him and Haye should do a rematch next year
I think Solis actually weighed in at 256 lbs. Not a big difference from 252 but it's a big difference from what he weighed as an amateur and what he should weigh for his stature (6'1).
I'm afraid Solis will turn out to be a wasted talent.

Ouch,
That is a massive difference. I think the freedom is making him cut off training, he isn't forced to do it so he takes the time off instead...
He looks like Butterbean now

Solis is one of the cubans that can't deal with the freedom. He is not forced to follow a strict diet, he is not forced to train hours a day, he is free to do what he wants, and he has chosen to get fat.
well hes been about the same weight his whole career, so unless theres a spi.ke in weight gain, then i dont see a problem.
he fought at 200lbs in the amatuers, 225 would be an ideal weight for him. 252 is just ridiculous.

and i cant believe i had to edit because the s.pik in s.pike got censored. grow some fucking balls. this is ridiculous.
