What are your thoughts on Casamayor being a poassible shoe in after a victory over JMM. Do you guys feel as though he is a shoe in with a victory or such an elite fighter in Marquez. Or does he still have some work to do.
He's a 2 division World Champion. Super Featherweight and Lightweight.
Also held the Ring Magazine Belt as best fighter in both divisions.
Victories over the likes of Diego Corrales (2), Nate Campbell, Fringe contender Daniel Santos, and would be one Juan Manuel Marquez.
His losses. JLC and Corrales, both disputed decisions. And lost a UD to Acelino Freitas when Freitas was oo 30-0.
Never been stopped, although he's been down many times.
What are your thoughts on his chances of the HOF?!?!
Never a devastating puncher, but he was a great puncher that would have probably knocked pav out in his mid-late 30s. I just can't see Pav able to hurt him much less than finish him. Hopkins is far too durable. He also had like a year lay off on top of the age to slow him down on Calzaghe. I think that played a big part on his performance. Hopkins wants to beat pav and have the winner of Joe/Roy as quick as possible before he retires semirich.
Yeah, in his mid 30's I'd have given him a good chance of winning by late TKO, or decision over Pavlik, but not now. He just ain't going to have the gas, and that's something he won't ever have again.
It's not that I'm a Pavlik fan, or that I'm not a Hopkins fan, I'm just calling it how I see it playing out. You're right about getting timed (Pavlik), but I think Pavlik can probably take a HOpkins right pretty good, and the more he throws, the less sting they'll have on them. And he's going to have to counter, and do everything else he can think of to keep Pavlik off him, or he's going to get beaten down like the old man he is.
Hopkins is pretty resourceful, and it's possible he can come up with a way to finish on his feet without being DQ'd, but if there is, I can't see it. But there's no way he wins, not even a remote chance. If Pavlik weren't in as superb shape as he is, I'd give Hopkins a 50/50 chance....he's got vast ring smarts, but that can't conquer youth and conditioning. If he were a huge puncher at that weight, I'd even give him a decent chance at a KO...after all, Pavlik is certainly hittable, but the reality is that Hopkins was never a devastating puncher.
If theres a winnable fight for Hopkins right now it's Pavlik. But if theres a KO loss to come for the first time in his career, it's Pavlik. IDK what too think thus far, but he is in for a tough fight, or a relatively easy one.
I could see him just dominating ala Antonio Tarver.
But I can also see the worst beating of Hopkins career come up.

Like Casamayor my attack comes from all angles. Hahahaha.
Cmon dude I got hit for about 20000 red k for a joke thread I made earlier. You'll get over my red k soon enough.
Don't sweat it, I don't give a shit about green or red, seriously, I was just having you on a little. If I cared, I'd have slammed you right back....well, no, I probably wouldn't, I'm not that way, but even so, it doesn't matter, the K, I mean.
Casamayor V Corrales 2
1,2,6,7,8,9,10,12 Casamayor (10-8 in round 10)
3,4,5,11 Corrales
116-111 Casamayor on my card
Casamayor V Corrales 3
3,4,6,8,9,10,11,12 Casamayor
1,2,5,7 Corrales (10-8 round 5)
115-112 For Casamayor.
The fuck? Casamayor clearly lost the second corrales fight.
I had him winning the freitas fight and drawing with Castillo though.

Well, you little turd, you slammed me with red K? If I gave a shit about what color that bar is, that would annoy me.

Yeah, we'll see;)
If Pavlik doesn't stop Bernard, at the very least I look for Hopkins to try and get DQ'd late so he can finish on his feet. I think he's gonna gas way sooner than anyone thinks...Pavlik isn't going to let him slow him down, and hell....Hopkins is my age. That's why us old guys will hurt you young kids quick if we tangle with you. We ain't got the wind to go deep, like you kids can, so we get it over quick. Only problem with Hopkins doing that in this fight is that I just don't think he can KO Pavlik. Maybe 7 or 8 years ago, but not now...he won't let his hands go against someone Kelly's size, and even if he did, I don't know if he's got the pop to get it done.
We'll see how high Pav's punch output is when he's timed with right hands every time he makes a move. We'll also see how he fairs when he finally meets an opponent tht can take him on the ropes. Don't get me wrng, I can see Hopkins tiring and gettin touched more losing a decision, but Pav doesn't have the tools to put away a 50 year old Executioner, and I'm a Pavlik fan too.
Hahaha do you really wanna continue the argument so I can curb stomp your ass some more? One of our arguments haven't even played out yet. You said Pav will KO Hopkins. We'll see how awfully wrong you were. I'll see first hand as I'll be attending that schooling.

Already a HOFer.
Robbed by Corrales II (not even close).
A draw is the best I could see for Castillo in his fight against Casa.
Lost a very close fight against Freitas at Freitas' prime division and when he was 30-0.

Three and 0 for you?. Oh, horseshit, kid, I've been beating up so bad I was afraid the cops were gonna show up on my fucking doorstep to haul my ass off. Hell, just this last argument probably counts for 2 wins, alone.

That's what was so great. You get 4-5 close competitive action filled rounds, the rest you get to see one my more favorite fighters whoop on that fat ass. I saw nothing wrong with that fight at all, except maybe it wasn't long enough.
Yeah, but the drama was gone in the second half of the fight. The only question was whether the corner would keep sending Diaz out to take punishment.
That's something else I don't agree with, is deducting points when it's an honest accident that the fighter probably couldn't have helped anyway, and I don't care if there have been 5 warnings beforehand. If, say, you're inside, head on your guy's chest, and you throw a hook right when your opponent pushes your head down, and you tickle his testicles with the left you threw, you sure as hell shouldn't even get a warning, and most assuredly not a deduction, but I've seen idiot fucking refs do just that..everybody has.
The sport isn't perfect, never will be (because I'm not king of the world, but if I were, oh, brother would there be some big changes), but I have the right to bitch about any aspect of it I please :D
LOL. No shit remeber how the WBC used to conduct there title fights in the early and mid 90's I believe. Any fighter who was cut during an ACCIDENTAL HEADBUTT, the other fighter was automatically penalized one point because of it. No matter how accidental the headbutt may have been. It happened more specifically in the fight with DLH and Whitaker. In which we had the normal southpaw and orthodox matchup. ( DLH is a southpaw but fights as an orthodox fighter). Whitaker came in to throw while DLH was doing the same. DLH was hit with a butt and had a small nic under his eye. It was automatically a 10-8 round I believe round 3 or 4 Ill have to check. Anywho, Whitaker lost the round plus the point deduction.
They obviously changed this over the years, but even still , that was just some way pf punishing a fighter for an accidental foul Instead of using judgement calls with the Ref, it was an automatic point deduction.
Man you are as blind as Jay Nady my old friend from the stone ages. Our record in world title forum fights is like 3-0 for me, all by way of knockout. This time you got tag teamed. Let's find something else to fight about. What war were you in again??

Well, for the first 4 rounds or so it was awesome, until Diaz broke down.

AND Newman is near sighted right?!?!?!?!:boxing:
Newman has been dead for decades brother. Don King had them put strings on his arms and legs and he just dances him around the ring giving warnings and point deductions for his terrible personal amusement.
