It looks like Oscar De La Hoya will be inviting Ricky Hatton up to his Big Bear training camp and will take that one step further as he will allow his trainer Floyd Mayweather Sr. to be the lead man on Hatton's training team as well.
The move is out of the ordinary for De La Hoya who put his foot down and did not allow Freddie Roach to train Manny Pacquiao when Oscar was getting ready for Floyd Mayweather Jr. in 2007.
With Oscar hinting this December 6th fight with Pacquiao may not be his last you have to wonder if De La Hoya isn't doing everything he can to make sure Hatton is victorious in his November battle with Paulie Malignaggi.
Why would he do that you ask?
How about so he can set up an across the Atlantic battle between him and his new stable mate Ricky Hatton come May of 2009?
For those of you who think this is way too far fetched consider this, if someone told you at the start of last year that Oscar would be fighting Manny at the end of 2008 what would you have thought?

Man...sure will be good after DLH retires................
it will but no more PPV minblowing fights,
mindblowing ppv sales recordbreaking fights,
for a long long time
dlh vs pacquiao and then hatton
would generate more millions than hatton vs pacquiao and then winner takes on pbf
i agree
imo hatton - dlh would probably generate the most ppv sales EVER.
of course, and besides .. if you thought that DLH/Pacquiao was personal,
imagine Hatton-DLH
former training partners going at it .. who share the same TRAINER. man I can feel the tension from here.
**How many people would buy into that garbage fight? (Hatton-DLH)
Millions......
Hatton - De La Hoya would probably generate the most money ever made in a fight, America doesn't have a big enough arena to hold all the fans .. Serious.
It's definitely possible that that's the reason why DLH's allowing this. A fight with Hatton would mean big money.

This fight would be staged as well....they'd both make sure it would go 12 rounds so neither fighter looked bad in the fight. Both walk away with a massive pay check.
:lol1: you just know in the back of ODLH head he is thinking yeah stay at my gaff im gonna knock your punk ass out when we get a fight signed and you can make me a shit load of cash in the process
Oscar at his fake best
I had a friend tell me yesterday that he's giving up on boxing, and is going to become a diehard Tennis fan. I thought he was kidding, but he was dead serious. When i ask why, he tells me "at least in tennis, the best take on the best, and leave no question about who's the absolute best" He did have a point!
