The shed load of Khan threads is understandable, it was a devastating KO loss.
But seriously, why do sooo many people jump on the bandwagon and just use it as a weapon in much more general, British criticism?
Nationality is always going to be a factor in sport, and particularly in boxing and there's lots of hyping, exaggerating, criticism, competition, banter among the forums from all over. But the level of threads and posts along the lines of "Another British hype job" is actually un-real and often not that representative.
It really makes you question the motives of the people saying, and asks more questions of you then the Brits, whom by the way weren't exactly hyping Khan for this fight. So where's all the belief and hyping? He lost and no one cares, so where does that leave you? Just trying to find another way to mislead and piss people off, for the sake of it most likely.
If all you have to say is nationalistic un educated tripe to suite your more generally non favourable views, and nothing constructive to say on a boxer, and boxing, in a boxing forum - then don't bother.
never seen you post anything with relevance so your getting negged for that... and your from london so that doesnt help
YI GET ME BLUD INNIT !
I was joking you moron, it's a parody of the entire thread started by me and several posts since. What would my being from London (just outside btw) have to do with anything.
After saying how much I hate any nationalistic prejudice or xenophobia I pretended to do so as a parody, you believe it and do it for real. More irrelevant and guilty of what the entire thread is criticising.
Genius.
Blasphemy. Check your sig. Khan took his biggest shots to prove he could take them, and still live. And he did. Then more money for a rematch with Prescott worried he can't kill him. Pwned that Columbian!

Of course you would be happy if that scenario played out.It would improve Calzaghe's resume ten fold and make a showdown with Pavlik meaningless all at the same time:fest30:
Thats going too far. It would hopefully make people understand what I know to be true, namely Calzaghe = greatest active boxer, but I really wouldn't mind Kelly winning, so long as Calzaghe does actually fight him. If that were guaranteed I would be rooting for Kelly KO1 over Hopkins. I'm sure you realise that no calzaghe fan has any real concerns about a Calzaghe clash with the young, enthusiastic and bald American champ.
Speed will be the defining factor in the Lacy fight I think. Jeff looked super sharp in his last outing, looks like he has finally managed to get rid of the demons he has carried since being robbed horribly against Joe.
No doubt about it :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:
Obviously. Lacy is "The New Tyson" goddamnit.
Seriously though I cannot tell you how happy I would be if 1) Lacy defeated Taylor and 2) Hopkins beats Pavlik. I give Hop a very good chance, Lacy, obviously, is a shoo-in.

Jeff Lacy is doing the same thing to Taylor:rofl:

I knew I was right. Roy Jones did the same thing. He only got KOd by Tarver and Johnson to lure Calzaghe out of Wales, fooled into thinking he has a chance.
I must say though, that is one instance when 'exposed' would be being used quite fairly. KOd in 51 seconds by a complete unknown? Its not great, I feel very sorry for Amir.

Im not a fan badger but even i felt a little bad myself..
That was a brutal reality check
I agree, but I would suggest requiring a 1000 post count to post. The only reason I would have it is that the forum would be an instant flaming target and the mods would have a terrible job keeping up.
Yeah, good call. That would be necessary.
Yeah, not sure stickied threads would work, simply for the reason you state - the number of posts would render them unreadable.
Basically I would follow this model - create a new forum that is open for everyone and make all posters aware that it will be heavily regulated - state the rules such as no flaming, spamming, racism, etc etc. These rules will prevent a lot of the fucksticks from posting in the forum initially, but those who do and infringe on the rules should be automatically banned from posting in that forum for an extended period of time. I think that by doing this there would be a reasonable forum with only non-fucked members in not too long.

The place blew up last night didnt it? lol
There was like 10 active threads on khan from he got exposed
to his a british Bum..

Yeah that would be unfortunate.
To be honest it is the thread topics I find to be more annoying that the cunts on here. Like last night I logged on and I think I counted 8 useless "Kahn is overhyped and got owned, another British overhyped fighter pwn" threads on the front page. I just think these should be deleted upon creation. They add nothing and create unnecessary frustration.

On a serious note, it is absurd that discussing boxing is actually very hard here. There is one basic problem: if you say a boxer is good/ bad someone's feelings always get hurt because they feel you are in competition with them somehow. Thus spews forth hate.
Haha, wasn't really person specific, there's an obvious one or two I think were' intelligent enough to know who. But were all guilty of it at times allbeit to lesser exents, provoked, slightly fairer or tongue in cheek.
The site has gotten a lot better than say a month ago though, have to commend BPP's efforts. There's always going to be bad patches but this is a common theme.
I can live with the individual imbeciles, in many ways they provide me with entertainment, but you're absolutely right the repetitive hate filled topics are the most annoying thing. Basically I think everyone here is a points whore (not me, I bet 40k on Katsidis!) and has to have their own thread for everything.
Alarmingly, P4Pking had a good idea when he suggested we simply have stickied threads for discussing individual fights, which would be a step in the right direction, but I wonder if the number of posters would render them borderline unreadable.

Good posts. I came home tonight to find this thread at 5 pages and thought oooh good, cool. Only to find most of it's ICANTILE doing that exact thing everyones on about. It just doesn't get through and I find it frightening how common it is.
We are all on the same side and there's no reason to plainly dis-respect people based on nationality, it really is not that much better than racism, at the end of the day it's a form of discrimination. It goes round in circles though, a few too many brits bite and start spurting anti American stuff which isn't accurate. The odd observation and opinion on boxing and it's world scene, the behaviours and attitudes of fans around the world is fine but all to often it takes on a new level of plain hating for the sake of it.
A few people need to exercise some demons, it ain't natural to hate so much. Ironically, how about rather than venting your anger at friendly allies on a keyboard, vent it on a boxing bag. More constructive and rewarding. Radical idea hey. Heck I do it.

Sometimes an American can be provoked by the comments of a Brit.It works both ways.
No doubt mate think I said that or certainly meant to. What I mean, it goes round in circles, is just pointless and no one gains.
