Always disliked Amir Khan only because he was really over-hyped, fighting nobodys, was clearly protected and was calling out big names. this thread is to show other countrys we thought nothing of amir in the first place. Who was it who said? "When he faces the first decent puncher, he will lose"? Thats right everyone.
I feel pretty gutted tbh, More so the way he lost. If it was 4th or 5th round it might not be as bad, but to get wrecked so early is sad to see.
I hate Frank Warren so I was glad to see him lose, I don't really hate Khan but he should have gone with someone else other than Warren so it serves him right. I think the manner of the loss reinforces that.
Prescott was virtually written off before the fight. Why? Because of his pedigree? No, because he was a Khan opponent. He was written off because nobody thought that a Khan opponent could actually be any cop.
That speaks volumes and explains why I was pleased to see him lose (though I take little pleasure in a young kid getting wrecked like that).
no he was written off because he had a poor performance when he was last on TV and has a real padded record.

i feel sorry for him and i hope he's ok, but its hard not to be thrilled firstly that frank 'i single handedly ruined british boxing' warren has lost some money, and secondly thrilled for Prescott. The celebrations of him and his corner team reminded me of one of the reasons i love boxing
i think his religion and 100% faith in allah has reflected and ruined his natural talent, made him one dimensional.. it can effect other people different all this praying and religious mind sets.. it can format your brain to think in a certain way.. in religion certain thoughts that every human feels are against the rules.. its a very programmed way of thinking
..
WTF ARE U TALKING ABOUT??
There have been so many religious boxers who talk about nothing but God. Take Holyfield for example.
Khan never shouted abot Islam. And it has nothing to do with how they box.
I really dont care to be honest nor am i thrilled that he lost, His a young lad and he needs to get himself together and comeback from this, I lot of insecure people with low-self-esteem wanted to see him lose for some reason.
Since payperview started in the UK i have bought every fight except this one! The reason being is i dont agree with payin to see some over hyped prospect fight. Im glad he got beat.
he cant anticipate punches. The way he got hit soo unexpected!! i think his religion and 100% faith in allah has reflected and ruined his natural talent, made him one dimensional.. it can effect other people different all this praying and religious mind sets.. it can format your brain to think in a certain way.. in religion certain thoughts that every human feels are against the rules.. its a very programmed way of thinking
he used to be raw.. and have a bloody mind, now hes like a fucking robot.. hes very predictable in his own way.. hes got flashy handspeed but hes lost his naturaly flare he used to have where he could fight from long range..
he needs to chill out on the weight training and conditioning, theres only soo fit your gonna get.. its not a triathlon, its a fight, i think hes too big and muscley and could be weight drained..
I dont like to see any British fighter lose but Khan needed to be brought down to Earth with a bang so for that reason I am happy.
How he can be preparing for the hardest fight of his life but be talking about moving up weight to take on Ricky Hatton tells it own story!
This could be the best thing to happen to him as he will have to now definately concentrate on his defence, also he needs a team who can control him, I mean he was facing a banger who is the most dangerous in the early rounds, Khan is chinny so what does he do, he runs across the ring and starts exchanging with the guy??? Terrible coaching or pure pigheadedness? Either way its a reality check.
I dont want to hear another thing about the kid until he learns humility and proves himself.
Also why do people always compare him to Hamed? Hamed was a world champ, had KO power, lightning reflexes and speed. He was off-balance a lot making him look chiny. If Amir was a white man, would they be making the comparisions? Doubt it.Anybody that compairs Khan to Hamed want shooting behined the ear IMO !
Don't care too much. One on hand he has a lot of talent and the UK needs a next generation, but on the other, Khan has been irritably hyped since day one.
