i'm no doctor, but the more you think about it, the more it seems like it would be very difficult to contract anything from a cut in boxing. both guys have to have a laceration, and blood (how much blood, i don't know) from the guy who is contaminated has to literally go into the the other guy's wound.
in the amateurs we don't get tested for anything. i know i signed a waiver that said i hadn't had any head or hand injuries, and... well... i don't really know what i signed, but i get fights and have never had a blood test or anything of the sort.
It's only a theoretical risk. Realistically it's not something that would happen. HIV becomes unable to infect very quickly without a host.
I wouldn't feel comfortable having someone purposely dripping their HIV+ blood on a wound, but I wouldn't even be slightly concerned in a boxing match.
