Cotto's Stamina was affected by Marg. To make it sound like the nose was an outside factor is ridiculous. Its not like Cotto came in Cut and with a busted nose before the fight. Did Cotto's people back up Paulie's complaint for his misfurtune in the early part of the fight? Ofcourse not. Things dont go your way when your battling someone better.
cotto never got dropped by margarito he went down on his own twice in the 11th he probably could of went on it was only 1 more round but he would of lost regardless since all the judges had margarito winning the fight anyway but i only seen margarito win 1 round decisively and that was the 7th
When you got a guy coming at you over and over, you tend to start pushing with you punches, and then you get tired moreso. Add to that, Margarito is pretty tall. If you watch the Pavlike Taylor fight it was the same thing.

cotto has always been one of the most poised fighters in boxing even as a young man.to say he was nervous is silly.being nervous doesn't take away your stamina:lol1:
supposedly she was proud enough to have this foto on her website till she started being vested by mccain.
Lol, those bullshit pics have been proven false some people just have too much time on their hands.

POLL coming up.
You should have had and option for all of the above....IMO I think Cotto downfall in this fight was Marg's body shot, the broken nose, the movement, and the fact that he knew he couldnt hurt Marg all play into factor on how Cotto lost the fight...He gave Margorito the business the first 6 rounds and since he couldnt hurt Margorito I think that broke his will...Then to add those body shots and that broken nose didnt make things any better!
I think the body shots especially made difficult for him but of course the nose and having to move more than he usually does affected him.
I also think that the problem for Cotto was mentally. Land those clean shots to Margarito and not hurting him must fatigue you mentally. Every fighter he has faced had been hurt when he landed one of that punches and I think that he not expected that.
Also think about the pressure of the crowd against him.
Why he wanted to fight with 8oz. gloves if he was going to be the boxer? And why fight in Vegas and not NY if he was the star? It's pretty rare that in the biggest fight of his career he took all those edges away.
It was a bit of everything. Not being able to breathe well would play a role. Breathing is very important in boxing. Also, taking body shots like that from a big, strong WW would really cause some damage, and constantly moving and evading that kind of pressure is hard. Cotto's never been in against something like that. He threw a lot of punches and landed a lot, but to no avail. All that throwing would wear you out as well. It's hard to say what played the largest role. It was just a bad night for Cotto.
Fighting Margarito is what took Cotto stamina away. His nose was broken from Tony, Tony murdered him with those body punches, And no matter how much he moved he would lay on the ropes and get worked every time he stopped. His movement would have won him the fight not exchanging with a brawler like Margarito.
