Mundine is a world class talent, he has skills only a prime Roy Jones could match, lightning fast hands, granite chin,
he has tremendous accuracy and timing, he is the most underrated fighter in the world, when he gets fights with guys like Pavlik and Abraham he will show how good he really is,
The Middleweight division is in for a shock when "the Man" gets down there,
The rumour is that Mundine's management wants him to keep fighting opponents that he can easily beat because the people from Australia will pay to see him fight regardless of the opposition.
I believe the only reason he gave up his title and supposedly went down in weight was so that he would not have to face Kessler again, a fight he would surely lose.
I think you are right.
In Kessler's case, well he was named mandatory for Mundine's WBA 'regular'-title and Mundine vacated rather than facing him. Mundine said that he couldn't win a fight against Kessler. That's really what I don't understand. He fought competitively against Kessler and Kessler was coming of a loss to Calzaghe. If Mundine had fought Kessler and defeated him in more impressive style than Calzaghe, Mundine would be fighting the biggest names by now. So one can question his heart IMO.
Oh yes. Careerwise he needs a big fight. Based on record he also deserves it. In reality I question his heart for not getting it. I just dont think he wants to take on the big names. I'm not sure about this, but I believe he has priced himself out of fights that might have given him some yank exposure.

some loser super middleweight who got his ass kicked by mikkel kessler , sven ottke and manuel siaca.
it's okay he still has time to develop he's only 34. :scared:
mundine sucks balls.
he turned pro at 25 years of age with no AM experience after crossing over from another sport - NRL rugby (the highest level of rugby in aus)
he's had 8 years to develop, i think he has come along pretty good. we will see when fights a big name MW
crazy kim was p4p #7 on my list,
but honesttly he does have talent, he needs to get a big fight soon, he`s 33 or something so he doesnt have much time

He will not improve now, he is too old. He needs to fight the top guys now or else he will retire having never beat a top fighter.
It was a good performance, Against a slow and limited fighter thought.

Boxer Rec is the holy grail of boxing information! Forget about watching him fight when you could just look at who he beat. It is all about names not actual skill. I would give more credit if I seen Elvis as an opponent for a boxer rather than watching him perform well against a nobody
:lol1::lol1::lol1:
Using the Ottke loss against Mundine is like holding Margaritos first 3 losses against him or using Pacs early losses against him etc.
thats right, Mundine was very green when he fought ottke, that was hi amateur career, he had no right being in there with a world champ at only his 11nth fight, and he got caught with shot on the temple, you dont need a great deal of force on a punch to do damage with a shot to the temple, mundine's inexperience showed in that fight. fast forward to 2008, he is a competely different fighter, lightening fast hands, can punch from all angles, has decent power, and (despite the crazy kim knock down) good defense. He would of been trying to showboat when he was caught with that flush left hook to the jaw, he did get up and recover from that kd to win a unanimous decision. The Man is highly underrated. if he can leave the RJJ showboating behind, and focus on being more offensive, and putting more effort in finishing guys off when h hurts them, he will do damage at MW !!
Quote me on that when he gets a big fight at MW

:wtf:
You can tell how good a fighter is from Boxrec records?
Ok then...
EDIT- Also, you can't post in a thread about how good a fighter is if you have never seen him fight. "I looked him up on boxrec" WTFI was being sarcastic mate!
thats true, his performance against Kim was excellent,
but people will just pull out the kd :nonono:

Right. The Ottke KO is inevitable. Thats one highlight. Another is the Kim KD. The defence for those are of course inexperience and a flash KD. Mundine actually fought an excellent fight against Kim.

I've seen him fight, he sucks ass. I hope this thread is a joke.
He isn't a top level fighter, and any top 160-175 would beat him. I think he has some talent, but that's it really.
And yes, I think this thread was a joke.
That's what he will be remembered for unless he does something notable other than being one of the only men ever to be knocked out by the mighty Sven Ottke.
Margarito was a 'bum with 6 losses' until he beat Miguel Cotto.
Mundine might want to follow his example on fighting world class opponents to prove that he is indeed a very good fighter, not just bums, journeymen and Sam Soliman to show that he is a potentially good one.
Until then, that video of Mundine being knocked out by Ottke will always be posted in Mundine related threads.

btw: why the hell does mundine fight the same people over and over again? seriously. i think he fought soliman like 10 times.
I know :lol1: "Unfinished business"
