This is just for fun, no hating, no nuthugging. Lets see who you got and why. We can go back after the fights and laugh about our predictions or you can pose a little around.
Explain your choice and give some reason, like "I think Margarito takes em all, cuz I'm mexican", na just kidding.
Juan Diaz vs. Michael Katsidis

In my opinion Diaz got the better defense and doesn't cut as easily as Katsidis, he's faster but not as powerful, enough reasons for me to think Diaz will win by UD or a late stoppage via cut.
Sergio Mora vs. Vernon Forrest

Forrest doesn't like his fighting style, at this point in his career he can't get better, while Mora can. Forrest excuse "overtraining" hasn't persuaded me one bit. Mora again by decision.

Juan Diaz vs Miachael Katsidis

Nate Campbell vs Joan Guzman
The value is almost always on betting the underdogs. I've made bets on fighters that I didn't even pick because the odds were too long. Cashed in on a few of them too.
You know i agree with that. Unless the favorite is under -200, anything over that is hard to lay down money on. If i want to bet on a favorite, I have to go to a fight party and find some chump that will take even money because they do not know any better, but that only works for big fights really.
Campbell at +185 is to thin
Casamayor at +250 i am considering
Katsidas at +250 i am staying away from
Mora-Forrest is even more or less and not much I want to do with that.
They are all real lopsided for the current betting lines. Forrest and Mora is damn near even. Diaz and JMM are -310 and -325 while Guzman is -225. Wide spreads for only being that level of favorites

Even though I made the same choice, I'm shocked at how lopsided the 2nd and 3rd fights were. Forrest is actually the betting favorite.

I voted for Sergio, Juan, Juan and Nate.
I think Mora takes out Forrest because, well Vernon is just an old fighter now, and while he isnt as high mileage as he could be, 38 years old with chronic injuries is just too much for him to overcome at this point in his career. I think Mora is also just a little bit better than he gets credit for, I could see him beating a lot of guys at 154.
I picked JMM over Casamayor because for one, I think he is the overall better fighter and two, I think he has more left in the gas tank. Casamayor can be a very difficult guy to figure out, but at 37 and after his last couple of fights I just dont think he has it anymore.
Ive got Juan Diaz winning a decision in a tough fight against Katsidis. I see Diaz as being the more durable of the two fighters, while Katsidis does crack hard and that worries me a bit, Diaz should hold up fine. On the other hand Katsidis gets rocked and cut easily, and while Juan isnt the hardest hitter, he has the workrate and aggression to bother Katsidis.
As for Guzman Cambell, who knows really. I voted Nate, I think if he comes out and fights to the best of his potential, he will win the decision bullying the smaller fighter. Guzman on the other hand, will out box Nate to a wide decision, if Nate doesnt show up to fight.
I really don't understand how anyone can pick Campbell over Guzman. Guzman has shown to have a really good chin if not great, and Campbell only fights one way
Campbell can be slick or a slugger, while I don't think he is slicker than Guzman.

Diaz wins because Katsidis is basically a nothing fighter with a lot of heart and a big punch
Mora wins because Forrest is absolutely ridiculously fucking shot
Marquez wins because Casamayor is old as fuck (and struggled with Katsidis in his last fight for crying out loud)
Guzman wins because he's a slick boxer and Campbell is known for having relapses after wins
Lastly this to me is the most intriguing fight. And Im going out on a limb here. I think that Campbell has shown flashes of his abilities before, but only flashes. I think that he will DOMINATE this fight. He will stalk Guzman, cut off the ring and pressure him all night. Making Guzman make mistakes and fight all night backpedaling or with his backs to the ropes. I see Campbell coming on really strong around rounds 4-5 and stopping Guzman around 10 or 11.
Lets say Campbell by TKO round 10!!
Good thread
Thx
I hope for that, but you never know with Campbell, hopefully he is really motivated in training camp.
I would also hope, that people would take a little more time creating their threads.
Today it's normal that one guy is creating a racist thread and some people think they are funny/coolwhatsoever by doing the same thread with another race. Boxingscene has gotten to its worst. We need Batmanpoppapump

I like Diaz alot in this fight by UD. He is just too much I think for Katsidis. Balls for to Katsidis for taking such a tough fight after a wallop of a KO at the hands of Ring champ Joel Casamyor. I think Diaz is too much on the inside and relentless. I think we will see a better performance then we seen against the tough and slick Nate Campbell. I'd say around 116-112 Diaz.
I think Mora outworks Forrest again. I don't like Mora much, and I don;t think he's that good, but I think he'll make and shed a lot of noise and ligth in the rematch. I don't see this being that close as the first. I think Mora will be able to get in and get out, let his hands go with punches and bunches and do enough to clearly win a decision. 115-113 Mora.
I have Casamayor winning in reletive ease against JMM. I think JMM really is looking for another Pac fight, but he's not going to use Casamayor as a stepping stone to get it. Casa is way to crafty and skilled on the inside. His mistake was fighting Katsidis instead of boxing, and personally I think he gets back to Casa form and used his technical advantages to not be hit and counter all night with shapr accurate punches to outpoint JMM. I'd say around 117-111 Casa.

Katsidas and Diaz is a tough fight to call, I think Juan Diaz will win a hard fought decision.
I think Mora will beat Forrest again, I just do not think Forrest can do enough or stay active enough to win a decision and he has not really hurt anyone since the shoulder problems.
I like Casamayor to beat JMM, JMM is not a real lightweight and i think Casamayor will get the job done, although I doubt it will look pretty.
I am torn on the Guzman Campbell fight. I do not know if Campbell can fight with the effort he did against Diaz and Guzman will not make it easy on him. I think Guzman will outbox him to a decision, with Campbell comming on toward the end but not enough to get the win
Juan Manuel Marquez vs. Joel Casamayor
EDIT: He doesn't allow me to include a 4th picture by saying I already included 5.......what da fuck?????

Casamayor was already shot and I just think Marquez is a great fighter. Ud Marquez, I don't think he can ko Casamayor at stepping up a weightclass

I really like Campbell, but Guzman got crazy skills. Close decision for Guzman but I hope Campbell throws a huge amount of punches, shows his dirty tricks and bullies him :)
