So wasn't that smart for him to do that? He knew it would hurt, but after the previous 2 rounds pretty much helpless on the cards. Do you think hatton gets stopped if he hadn't hit the pole? I think he get stopped. it's sad watching his fights. I just watched the watched the ninth round of the hatton-floyd fight 10 times.
Hatton never had a chance even before the fight started. Slick fighters esp with da speed of floyd are horrible matchups for tough inside fighters like hatton. Hatton actually did a little better than i expected well early on at least

When HBO showed the scorecards Hatton only won 1 round on 2 of the judges scorecards, and 2 rounds on one of the other judges scorecard...very different from how Harold Lederman was scoring the fight.
Like what has already been said.
It was the check hook that smacked him silly the ringpost drama
was just a shameful add on
He would of been beaten up anyway regardless
floyd: 0
Hatton: 0
Post: 1!
Floyd is such a coward, getting the post to do his dirty work. He should man up and fight Pacquiao, Oscar, Bernard Hopkins, Barrera, Shane, Ricky, Paulie Malignaggi, Mayorga, Tito, Augustus, Tye Fields, Calderon, Mike Tyson, Evander Holyfield, Jason Estrada, Hector Camacho (or Camacho Jr), Lockett, Sykes, or any other top pound for pound contender and stop running like a little be~yotch!!!!
Yeah you have a point but its pretty much entirely speculation, I would say however anyone who has played contact sport rugby, maybe it happens in american football too and as incourred a ****e injury will tell you how painful it is. A ****e injury is a compression of the spin from hitting your head on the top forcing it down. Im not saying he suffered from that but its definately not going to help as it affects reflexes and co-ordination.
hahahahahahahahahahaha u guys are crazy...Floyd is a great fighter and hatton was a joke simple as that...Floyd called it he came in to wide and he got him
Think the pole was the reason he got koed, but he would of got UDed judging by the scorecards from boxrec. (two 10 - 8 rounds to mayweather, one when he lost a point for supposedly hitting back of head and the knockdown).
It certainly didn't do him any favors, but he was already finished.
Yeah but he didnt hit that post nearly as hard as Floyd hit his head with his fist. It had no affect on the outcome.
That said I dont think Ricky deserves as much ridicule as he gets. Moving up in weight against the number 1 P4P guy and arguably the best fighter of the generation is nothing to be ashamed of, even if you get KTFO.
