It looks like Mundine finally has lured a big american fighter to share the ring with him: The almighty PETER MANFREDO JR. :rofl::rofl: This is from Ultimateboxas site (obviously): "According to 'The Sweet Science', Australian boxer Anthony Mundine has offered Peter Manfredo Junior $100 000 for a fight in early November. Mundine tonight confirmed that he was close to signing a fight with Manfredo, while commentating on the Solomon Haumono vs Cliff Couser heavyweight bout in Sydney, Australia. Its unpredictable what weight this fight will be at. With Mundine intending to move down to middleweight. Manfredo has fought at middleweight before, but he currently fights at super middleweight. If the fight was to go ahead, it would likely be at super middleweight. Peter Manfredo Juniors father wants Mundine to double the offer for the fight to become a reality. Peter Manfredo Junior is a very popular fighter and he will likely attract attention from the US boxing public. Attention Mundine needs, to set up his intended big money fights in 2009 with stars such as Winky Wright and Kelly Pavlik."

Spinks would've still been the best opponent Mundine has seen in years. Not to mention Lovemore N'Dou who was also ducked by Mundine. :boxing: I'm surprised Mundine didn't take that fight. Naah. Manfredo jr. is a better tune-up before Soliman VII.

But what gets me about this situation is that Mundine vacated his belt so he wouldn't have to fight Kessler again, saying that he was going down to 160. Yet he is still campaigning at super-middleweight? So why give up your title then? I have difficulty giving another explanation than a big lack of cojones!
