See I appreciate defensive counter punchers. A fighter with good foot work. One that could throw a good jab and defend himself NICELY with his back against the ropes. A good accurate puncher who is also a body body puncher and knows when/when not to fight on the inside. So I ask (Mainly, Mexicans) what do ya have against these type of fighters?
So yes...whats there to hate about skillful fighters like Floyd? Or your boy Solis
He was motivated to talk all that shit, but hes not motivated to prove that hes better?
yea, you're right.
"we're not fighting to prove whos the best to the fans, we're fighting for money"
I like how you added the underlined to the quote even PBF never said the underlined. As for the bold I can agree that is a pretty fucked up statement but at the sametime its the truth. Fighters are not fighting these fights to prove shit to the fans. They fighting to make money but we as fans enjoy watching those fighters do what they do. Do you really think Margarito fought Cotto to prove to the fans he was better or do you think he took that fight to prove to himself he was better than Cotto and to get paid?
why would he take less when he won the first fight
I agree, but that's why i say that his ego came into play when deciding on whether to take the rematch or not. Even though he will be making less than Oscar for the rematch, he still would've made $10mil+ more than he did for his first fight. Like i said earlier "not bad for a rematch that hardly anybody cared to see"
Smaller yet a BIG PIECE OF PIE. Mayweather would have never throw away that kind of money. So what stopped him?? Hmmmmmmmm
I think he wasn't MOTIVATED
Oscar offered him $35mil+ppv revenue. Floyd wanted $50mil+. Floyd made $26mil from his first fight. $35mil for a fight that nobody wanted to see is pretty fucking good if u ask me!
He thumbed his nose at $35mil+. So yes he did throw away that kind of money.
look floyd said before the hatton fight he wouldnt fight in 08-or 09
oscar gave him an offer the money wasnt right so he said fuck him
what part of that is hard to understand???

I dont hate slick boxers who are good counter punchers. What i hate is guys that dont take chances and always playing it safe. The guys that never initiate any of the action and always moving backwards.
His ego would'nt let him take the smaller piece of pie again. That's why.

If you were any smart. Why didn't Mayweather take the DLH rematch?? Oh but I'm sure he was "Motivated".

Don't know and don't care. It was a shitty fight to begin with.
However, there is still an entire division for him to prove his greatness against.
He retired.
So you agree. He isn't MOTIVATED cuz if he were this so called "Money Fighter" he would have taken the DLH rematch. Floyd LOVES money and was no longer motivated to boxing...that he even refused to fight DLH.

I agree but he no longer is MOTIVATED in the sport. Why should Floyd step in the ring against dangrous fighters while not be motivated?? Is this the Floyd you wana see?? The answer should simply be NO.

Floyd would get more respect if he just fought the fights people wanted to see.
No Cotto, no Margarito, no Williams, no Mosley.
But he did fight a murderers row of Sosa, Ndou, Corley, Gatti, Mitchell, Judah, Baldomir, DLH and Hatton.
Everyone knows those were much more dangerous fights.
But I get what you're saying though.

Honestly, that goes into CREDIT not being given. Floyd was NEVER given any credit. He beat names, NAMES that everyone said was gonna K.O Floyd. Floyd beat em and didn't get any respect. Everyones a bum once Floyd beats them. I just wish they gave credit to the natural 140 pounder for beating the names at 147 and DLH at 154

I agree, but some boxers take it to another level by (as one poster said) treating it as if were a game of "tag you're it" Some boxers are so focused on the 'not getting hit" part, that they tend to abandon thier offense all together.
What fighters are you talking about? Cory Spinks?
1. This is a bait thread...but fair enough.
2. Boxing is the sweet science. It's the art of hitting and not getting hit. Not getting hit, is integral to boxing. Anything else is simply brawling or just plain punching.
3. Most people don't get that because they either haven't boxed, fought, or have some idiotic machismo thing going on in their heads.
4. Brawling and boxing are both valid expressions of the art known as boxing. I know this seems to contradict point two, but if you think about it-it makes sense.

Check the level of opposition and the guys Floyd didn't fight.

You're talking about casual fans. which sport do you think casual fans would rather watch? football or flag-football?
You can be defensive and skillfull and STILL be exciting.
Pernell Whitaker!
their not boxing fans their rocky and mma fans that dont know the definition of the sweet science"hit and dont get hit"
Ali, SRR, Pep, Whitaker did this. Mayweather does it and he don't get no love?? Why
