He's not that big, he just has huge leg muscles. He can still do 168 easily now, even easier if he used supplements.
Says something when a guy who weighed 166 against Kessler comes up and beats a guy a good 7-8 lbs Heavier than him on the night.
Yes. Same procedure as in every thread James.
Forget it abadger. Same old same old. Every single argument has been posted at least 5 times.
Flawless keeps asking the same question. Does he expect a new answer? Well I for one dont know what he expects. Perhaps he expects that you (and maybe me) finally soccumbes (spelling) to his brilliant wit and wellthought-out argumentative posts.
Indeed. I have abandoned logic, as you can see.
Overhyped or not, he's a very skilled boxer with more than decent power, just inexperienced and to date, unproven. I don't feel the actual win warrants that much attention, but the way he won was impressive, nevertheless. I've seen bigger names have more trouble with lesser opponents. When you get right down to it, though, Kessler was nearly perfect for Zaggs, hence the lopsided win.
Whatever.
I don't care for how pretty a boxer looks in the ring. That's why half of these clowns STILL think Margarito is overrated.
I'm more interested in who he beats. And so far, his resume is decent, at best. Nothing more than a good fighter - although that's at a premium at 168.
We're not having this conversation again. Also, look at the divisional rankings I posted.

the only ones dumbing down kessler are "THE BROTHERS" ,the guys a f..king beast, without the aid of substances!!
racist pricks,he'd f... the majority of SMW and LHW up right now.
Don't waste your breath. The recent overhyping of Kessler is proof those doing the hyping know they're full of it. Really no need. You know you're full of it when you start placing performance over who the performance was against.

I'm sure Calzaghe could have made 160 early in his career, he boxed there as an amateur, but I don't think it would have lasted longer than the first couple of years of his pro career and I think it would have been a stretch. Boxers usually box as low as they can reasonably go.
For the majority of his career, even early on, Calzaghe stated that staying within the SMW limit was tough, and this got worse the older he got. I'm sure he could go back to SMW now if he wanted, but I don't think it would be an easy task.he was a 3 weight aba champ in the amateurs
Number one in a weak division where Mundine was ranked 3th. The only reason he is number one now is that fact Calzaghe fighting at LHW now how sad is that. Who is Kessler next victim he is going to fight??? :)
I know. He's a fucking joke/ ATG #2. Imagine being second best at your weight to the ATG #1/ P4P #1/ Overrated Eurobum. It's an absolute travesty.
Incredible overhyping of Kessler is rife on these boards. The guy is a fucking exposed eurobum. I've never seen a poorer prospect/ ex two belt champion/ Ring #1 SMW.
I think they're have been a few that were worse but you're right, I've never seen a win over Anthony Mundine take a fighter so far.
What a day it will be when Kessler actually beats a top fighter!! Let's not hold our breath though, you saw what happened to Lacy ;)

You're seriously suggesting that he intentionally bulked up in order to avoid facing a tough challenge in his debut fight? Even though it's has been shown a few pages ago that SMW was the better division, are at the very least equal in ability?
I can see it now....
FRANK WARREN: Joe, are you a coward.
JOE: Yes
FRANK WARREN: Good. I like my fighters to be cowards. What i want you to do is bulk up 8 pounds to avoid having to face one of the top ten MWs in your first fight as a professional, which is what any other promoter would make you do, but not me.
JOE: What am I going to do instead?
FRANK WARREN: You're going to slowly build your level of competition to a reasonable standard.
JOE: Isn't that what all boxers do?
FRANK WARREN: No. Roy Jones beat Ricky Randall in his first fight. You'll never be a legend like him.
Who has Kessler beaten again???Unproven basic boxer found out on the big stage losing to Calzaghe in a UD, fucking great performance Kessler you are going places. When you say Calzaghe best MW TO LHW, how is he the best LHW when he had one fight and is unproven there? Why didn’t Calzaghe fight at MW when he started out when it was a rich division? Benn and Eubank would KO prime RJJ in your opinion, hence making Calzaghe look better.

No you don’t hate, you hype.
I think you're wrong. You just make the mistake of thinking that your opinion on boxing is fact and that anyone who disagrees with you is spinning them. I think Calzaghe is one of the best MW - LHWs ever in terms of ability and I think Kessler is one of the best around at the moment. I also think that double division world champions Benn and Eubank were good. I don't think that's hype.

Was he better than Maske?
I've seen Ottke a few times but never Maske. Apparently he was over 6'4 and a southpaw, I'd imagine that would be a tough fight for anyone at LHW.
That's a difficult one. They both accomplished a lot. I'd have to so a little research (some other time sorry) before I can give you an educated reply, but I guess it's fairly even and they made german boxing what it is today: The biggest scene outside US.
But I did like Maske better as a man. He was a true gentleman in and out of the ring. Ottke always annoyed me. His appearance alone ticked me off :lol1:
I think you misunderstood me. I was referring to Daggum, the guy that you were asking about in the post that I was replying to.
Yeah, I see that now, and I should've read closer before. Sorry about that, but hey...at least I'm not the type to get extremely rude or obnoxious, so at least I have somewhat less to appologize for :D
