Judging from the majority of BSrs responses, Margarito don't stand a chance against the best boxer that ever lived, Tito Trinidad. Would Paul Williams have a chance against the immortal Felix Trinidad? Could Paul's length, size and volume punching keep Tito at bay and confused? Can Paul do it?
Thats some weak shit man, you say ''Paul gets hit too much'' then show his worst performance as proof? I couldve posted the BHop fight and said "Tito runs into punches too much"
Be real man, come on.
I wasn't serious.
We are talking about two fighters who are at different points in their careers, an aging Trinidad who has already made his mark, and Williams who is a young fighter and is constantly improving on his rather 'raw' skills.
Williams has all the tools, size, reach, stamina and a dependable chin. What he lacks at this point are the boxing skills and experience of Bernard Hopkins, Winky Wright and Oscar De La Hoya, all whom troubled Trinidad.
I have not seen a complete enough performance by Paul Williams, it's all potential as of now (very good wins against Margarito and Quintana though). Williams is getting better all the time, his last fight showed significant improvement as far as punching goes, but he still has things to work on.
The best (or worst) of Paul Williams has not been seen yet. I'll give a serious answer in about 5 years.
Tito is levels above Pwill. Get real people.
levels??? The only thing you could accurately speak on concerning levels between PW and Tito is the amount of top fighters they have faced at WW. Tito fought and beat more top welters true, but a big factor in that is the availability of people who would fight. All of the top WW at that time thought they had a chance of beating Tito and thus fought him, very few of the top WW now will even give PW the shot. So what are you basing your statement on?:boxing:
It's definitely a fight I think PW could win a really close decision by outhustling Tito. Getting off first and tying him up would go a long ways towards frustrating Tito. The long reach does come into play; (btw when PW used his reach properly and kept Quintana on the end of his shots he ended it in 1 round.) but Tito was really aggressive and relentless at 147. However, a stiff jab and straight along with plenty of angle and holding when in close could get PW the win. His chin could hold up as Tito wasn't kayoing world class fighters with 1 punch. The question was could he & I think PW could...:boxing:

Mothafuckas live in the past to much, Tito was nice in his time and Paul nice in his time no way shape or form does Tito just run threw any top 147er in this present era Cotto, Williams,Tony M or Mosely.. Its boxing not da fucking Paul Bunyun story this ***** wasnt invincible and who's to say he doesnt get Quintanaed like Julio and Williams.. If Tito was to figh Paul Williams
I'm not sure with Williams height and reach that Tito would be able to get at him. Even though. like someone said, that he'd connect eventually. I'm not sure that it he would land in enough volume to stop Paul. I highly doubt Tito stops williams with one punch. I'm not sure Tito would have enough leverage on his punches to even hurt Paul.
No hate, we all know who the better fighter is but styles make fights.
Tito is close to 6 feet himself, and yes he'd easily be able to find Williams, who makes numerous mistakes because of his physical advantages. He keeps his right hand very low at all times, and even drops his left hand too. It wouldn't take long for Tito to find the left hook, and fight it often.
Tito couldnt move his head out of the way of Winkys jab and he was standing in front of him all night.
I dont think its moronic to think that a guy with an 80" + reach & movement could keep Tito on the end of his punches all night. The question wasnt "Whos the better fighter" Its all in the styles. I dont like Paul Williams, I'm just using my head.
paul williams doesn't have a defense and a jab like winky right! Why didn't paul williams use that 80" against quintana? What happens when tito gets inside on him? It would be a great fight and it's really not worth arguing about fictional stuff but i dont see williams ever beating tito. People are hyping williams too much. I'd like to see what some of these williams people will say when margarito whoops his ass in the rematch.
Now let me start with I do not think it is probable for Williams to beat Tito but is not completely out of the question. Tito could knock him out but it would be toward the end of the fight I think, Pual is a tough dude so he would have to beat him down. Paul is not a very good boxer and fights on the inside way to much for me to give him a good shot at beating Tito. Pual grapples a lot though and that may give Tito trouble, if he throws enough shots and does not let Tito get off he could win a decision. Tito would be landing the most telling blows of the fight though, although Paul might knock him down early.
