man you're another one of those foolish people that think Tarver is complete garbage... I just can't take anything you say seriously. I'd have to root for Tarver though.
because he is, he's so damn cocky after beating roy and then loses a 12 round whitewashing to b-hop(a former middle wait jumping up 15 pounds to fight him. Not only is it b-hops first fight at lhw, the man is fucking 42, B-hop even hurts several times throughout the fight. Then after being thoroughly beaten, Tarver says he was poisoned, His Orange juice was bad, the food at the hotel he stayed at was bad, he was weight drained from dropping the muscle he put on for the rocky movie(watch the movie, it was alll fat) and the list goes on.
who would you root for if u had to outta Calzaghe or Tarver both seem to be dispised on these boards if pushed who would you root for
Joe......................
I agree with most of this
Hmm. Me too, except the very last part. Haha. Tarver is an enigma, how can the man who outboxed Jones three times also be the same man who put in that awful performance against Hopkins? It's crazy.
Even though I hate both more than anything. I'd have to say I'd root for Calzaghe. Tarver is just a one-hit wonder and I can't wait until Bad Chin Chad exposes Tarver for what he really is. There's not really one thing Tarver does well, he was Tailor made for jones(plus jones was out of his prime and drained and still made alll 3 fights competitive), Tarver thinks he's an ATG lhw when in reality he's not fit to wash the jockstrap of Archie Moore, Michael Moorer, Michael Sp[inks, or a prime roy.
I'm going to have to disagree with my man ibox. Tarver is a great fighter, who has horrible luck and is lazy. He ruined the mystique of RJJ, the 2nd fight, calling him out when Nady asks if anybody has questions, then putting him in a coma inside 2 rounds, that was unbelievable. Yeah, Hopkins shut him down. But Tarver is a really special fighter imo, because he has a granite chin, really good power, and is diverse with his attacks. He is also a skilled boxer. His problem is he doesn't always have his head on straight, but he's one of my fav. boxers. I think he'd murk Calzaghe.

Ironically i do have that same feeling :lol1:
i dont really care i will enjoy watching his skills and a questionable chin always makes for dramatic fights does it :lol1:
Yeah..lol it could also give me a heart attack from worry. :lol1:
:rofl::rofl:..........lets see:
hes a bum
(we'll just start off on that note)
thinks hes the shit
(hes not....he beat an old Jones with a lucky punch and all of a sudden hes a "legend killer" :lol1:)
hes really nothing special
(name something Tarver does that excites you? or you think hes one of the best at?)
he talks too much shit
(which i dont mind but at least have something to back it up......wins over a old Jones and getting your ass beat by an older Hopkins isnt enough sorry)
WAR COALITION!!!!!!!!!!! lmao
get started...... get started......

Agreed, Norris was boxing the socks off of Julian Jackson as well until he was caught cold. Do you believe that Dawson could turn out the way Norris did? A fighter with all of the skills but has that fighters mentality and is easily taken out of their game, on top of their chins?

i think you are right it was foolish of him to trade with Brown as he was a good puncher he should of known better and allthough Waters had a good KO % at the time he had not really beaten anyone of any note so i cant blame Norris for trying to walk straight through him
Brown 2 was a master class of Boxing combination punching
as good as Roy Jones IMO if he had a better chin

A fighter with all of the skills but has that fighters mentality and is easily taken out of their game, on top of their chins? I noticed that in his fight with Johnson. He was boxing Johnson easily from the outside and keeping him at bay, but he let his ego get the best of him and gave Johnson his opportunities. I think Dawson will be fine though, he just needs to tighen up his defense and learn to stick to his game plan especially against the big bangers.
I didn't like the way he was trading with Troy Waters and Simon Brown in their first fight and taking those punches. He should have fought him like he did in their rematch, giving him lateral movment and counter punching. His corner came up with a horrible game plan of having Norris bring the fight to him. I agree about the Mugabi fight, it was one of his best performances as well as his fight with Curry ect. Just imagine if he had a better chin? Hes already in the hall of fame now, but he would gave most likely became an all time great. He was one of the most fluent boxer i have watched.

i enjoyed the Curry fight it is one of my favourite Norris fights
i think Norris became easier to hit when he tried to Box more conservatively after the Simon Brown defeat Norris best defence was his offence IMO he got caught by Brown but Norris for me was at his best letting the combinations go
Norris definetly peaked around that era when he beat Curry ,Taylor etc
Taylor ,Mugabe,Blocker ,Curry are my favourites
