Could Margarito have taken Trinidads punch for 12 rounds?

Could Trinidad take Margos assault for 12 rds. when he found out he couldn't hurt him let alone ko Margo. Margaraito wasn't even momentairly stun with Cintron or Cotto.

I don't think anyone, including Antonio Margarito can take flush shots from Trinidad without feeling the effects.

I think he would have just been broken down faster...and have had a couple of points where Tito's left would land so cleanly that he'd be wobbled and knocked down...but I could see Marg lasting the distance after being hurt and I could also see him getting stopped.. I don't see Tito getting stopped by Marg though...I think Tito would be hurting Marg too much

i dont know... but as far as I know... margaritos name shouldnt be allowed in the same sentence with TITOs.. we are talking here to an ATG...future hall of fame... and margo is waaaaaaaaaaaaayyy below that level...

no one can ko margarito he was never hurt against cotto or cintron the most devastating punchers at 147 and u expect trinidad to not only hurt him but ko him? that's what they said about campas.

tito was a slow starter always finshed strong.most of the time.and anyone who doesn't think tito wouldn't have ko margarito just lol.trust tito could crack middleweights he could crack anybody he could hit.period. AMEN Second that

You are talking about Tito Trinidad ask Campas who has never been stopped until Trinidad how those punches felt. No WW of this era could have beat Tito at WW. Tito as well is 5'11" with Massive Power that even Margarito would have dreamed on.

well, could felix have lasted 8 or more rounds throwing everything at marg and still have enough left for a late ko?????? i am not so sure.....maybe, but not sure. plus we all know tito's chin is good, but far from granite. Well if you don't know the answer to that you know crap about Tito specially in the WW div. He threw at every round including the 12 bombs in every fight.(while they lasted).

Very hard to call with Titos chin not being the most durable. However, he almost always did recover extremely well after a knockdown. With that said, Tony is a pretty good finisher as well. Double KO perhaps?

Antonio Margarito has one of the best chins I have ever seen at welterweight. Felix Trinidad hit like a wrecking ball and he took that power to 160. If these two fighters fought, they would obviously go at each other. It's conceivable that Margarito could hurt Trinidad. But as an opinion, would Trinidad stop Margarito or would Margarito walk through the punches like he did with Cotto? For the record, I favor Trinidad in this fight. But I can see some back and forth action if the fight happened. btw, great fantasy fight post. A firefight between a prime Tito and Margs!!!!IMO, this one would be a slugfest classic!!!!! Vargas didnt have a chin? Maybe later in his career when his weight fluxuated but when he was in his prime he had a pretty good chin. I agree Vargas had a chin, wars like the one with Tito ruined that shit. Tito also ruined Reid and Joppy. Honestly that muthaphucka could crack like nobody's business and the only way to really beat him was not to really let him hit you (ala) OLDH. I really dig Margs and he's one of the most indomitable welters I've ever seen but the way he would be there for Tito all night and the way he cuts???!!!! Absolutely not. Antonio Margarito may be the most underrated welter of this decade but Felix Trinidad is the best 147lber since a prime Pernell Whitaker moved up. And everything Margarito did, he did better. Trinidad had both the power to stop Margarito and the stamina to outlast him. He was often known as a slow starter - most of his knockdowns at welter came in the first two rounds. But it wasn't because of his chin; Tito would often get caught peering in while sizing his opponents moves. But like Margarito, he was relentless once he got going. And carried much greater firepower and superior skills. This fight would be an absolute war for as long as it lasted. And it would last. In the end, I see an ending similar to Trinidad-Campas, with the proud Margarito unwilling to fold and taking head-snapping blows along the ropes. Trinidad TKO12. good post man and I agree. Tito's relentless approach is far different than margarito's. He was calculating and very exact in his punishment. It would be a fun fight to watch but Tito's skill would prevail over the course of the fight
