If Pavlik wants Joe...

What has Kessler done to earn a shot at Pavlik?? Beating Mundine or losing to Calzaghe which one is it?? I think the Kessler/Pavlik bout should be made if Pavlik moves to SMW... Dont think Mikkel needs to earn a shot at Pavlik at SMW. The Calzaghe/Hopkins fight showed us that even though Hopkins still got a brilliant boxing brain hes just too old... If Pavlik wins a UD against Hopkins, which is a very possible outcome, I dont think it proves anything... Joe didnt get any credit for beating popkins, right? I would personally give Pavlik much more credit for taking a fight with a prime Kessler...

I disagree when people say that Pavlik hasn't earned a shot at Calzaghe, ditto when others say that Kessler hasn't earned a shot at Pavlik. Pavlik is a MW, but if the fight with Calzaghe doesn't happen, and he still wants to move to SMW (which he might not) then Kessler should be the guy he fights, because Kessler is rated #1 in that division. Agreed. I have no problem with a Pavlik/Kessler fight. But I don't think he should have to fight Kessler to get a stab at JoeCal.

Funny how Palle wouldn't answer anyone's phone calls (ESPN, DBE, etc) when Miranda's team was accusing them of backing out of the fight, and then issued their own press release several days later. Even if what they claim is true, their PR is terrible and makes them look highly suspect.

Suspect chin is maybe exagerating a bit but... He was Rocked by the old defensive Hopkins and Pavlik is the only fighter with a decent KO-Rating Taylor has ever faced. All Taylors big fights have been against good defensive fighters. It is obvious that Taylor likes to outpoint his oponents from the distance, problem with Pavlik was that he kept on walking forward putting on the pressure and Taylor had problems answering this. Now Taylor has been down once and Im sure he will hit the canvas again soon if he steps up at SMW. Taylor took some of Hopkins' best shots and stayed on his feet... he was rocked by a huge right hand in the first fight and then Hopkins jumped on him against the ropes... but Taylor stayed up. And you are underrating Hopkins' power... he has KO'd top competition... it's just not his usual M.O.

Kessler having worked hard to get Miranda ranked now made his team a better offer. Would it be fair to say Hopkins nearly beat him when Kessler didnt come close , would it be fair to assume that if a lightweight can go the distance with Kessler and that Kessler hasnt really knocked out that much the biggest name Beyer who Danny Green had out of there that he is gunna just KO Pavlik , I dont think so , Kelly has a hammer in either hand and Mikkel has lots of trouble with pressure thats a bad mix for Kessler , he likes to sail along on the front foot at range some how I dont see him sailing alone with Pavlik in front of him Kelly aint no Sartisan or Andrade , Kesslers biggest advantage over Pavlik is size he is a division above him , if they were both middles I think Pavlik would shake rattle and roll him to his boots inside 8 rounds , at the bigger weight its a closer fight that Pavlik will still get because he is a real fighter with a fighters heart and thats the area Mikkel is suspect . Maybe Hopkins came closer to beating Calz on the scorecards, but Hopkins clearly felt his KD in the first would be sufficient to win the fight. After that he did everything he could to spoil the rest of the fight... In my opinion Calzaghes win against Hopkins was just as wide as his win against Kessler. Only different was that Kessler actually tried to get a KO. I never said I thought Kessler would KO Pavlik??? And who has Pavlik KOed Taylor with his suspect chin and Miranda who leaves himself open to anything thrown at him. I agree that Pavliks high workrate could be trouble for Kessler and I personally see this as a very good and close fight that could go either way.

I agree Pavlik should fight Kessler to prove his worth, but saying that him being 34-0 isn't worth a shot is wrong and him being knocked down come on Calzaghe got knocked down by an old man in the first round...knockdowns dont count if you can come back from them! Pavlik deserves a shot at Calzaghe more than Roy Jones does, Jones has lost his prime....hes done, Pavlik is the best match out there for Calzaghe! But I agrre he should fight Kessler, and WHEN he wins, Calzaghe should have NO excuse but to fight him, retired or NOT!He should step up and fight Kessler... Hopkins - Calzaghe was a useless boring fight... Hopkins hugged his way through the last 8 rounds... BORING. Im my opinion the Kessler - Calzaghe fight was a much better fight and clealy the fight Calzaghe should regard as his best performance. To say Hopkins put on a better performance then Kessler is just lame. LMAO calzaghe admitted that a 43 year old Hopkins gave him the toughest fight of his life.
