Im defintely goin buy this one Hopkins v Pavlik is gonna be a barn burner i like Pavlik in this one cuz he's blistering and powerful and doesnt stop working.. and well B_Hop is the essential when it comes to defusing a bomb, Pavliks the bomb and B_hops the FBI! This shit will be entertaing as hell1
Yes, I'm buying the PPV. I want to see the humble expression on Hopkin's face after he's stopped by Pavlik.
That'll be worth a thousand dollars. :lol1:
Ahahah I'll be sure to sig this later... Wanna bet on the alleged stoppage?
I gotta find a way to get it for free. I'l never buy a hopkins fight again. Dude is so damn boring to watch. Stop hurting the sport and retire hopkins please!!!
I agree that prime for prime it isn't even close. I don't know, I just don't feel that Bernard has enough gas in the tank to sustain the punch output he would need to win the fight. You talk about using the ring and whilst I see your point I just don't think, at almost 44, he will have the stamina to do it over 12 rounds.
I thought his legs looked pretty good except for the last couple of rounds in the Joe fight. He was moving pretty well all around the ring and then tied him up and worked inside on the clinch. If Pavlik doesn't know how to work in the clinch and throw fast like Calzaghe did, then I think Hopkins as got it. Joe worked surprisingly well in the clinch since he looked not that good against Bika, a very dirty fighter.
A little bit of both. Let's just say I wouldn't be shocked if Bernard loses or wins. I mean I can justify Bernard winning in a way. Like if I map it out and say why he would beat him I can.
Kelly is a lot slower then Joe (and Taylor) were and so his workrate could be lowered. Also Kelly doesn't have the best defense in the world as shown by Lockett landing some right hands on him in round 1. If Bernard potshots and uses the ring well I can see him taking it that way. We don't know how Kelly reacts in a clinch really either. Joe had the speed to fight out of it while Winky or Taylor didn't. I think Bernard has the tools there to pull off the upset.
I think it's obvious Bernard beats Kelly prime for prime though. I'll even say it's the middleweight version of Mayweather-Corrales.

Bernard Hopkins vs Kelly Pavlik 12 rounds
Juan Manuel Lopez vs TBA 12 rounds (JHONNY GONZALEZ PLEASE)
Steven Luevano vs Bernabe Conception 12 rounds
Not a bad card. Hopefully they'll add another fight to it.
Warp do you seriously hold much hope for Bernard in this fight? I know you are picking him to win. Is it just you cannot pick against him or do you genuinely think he has a shot?

$50 in America as well. Some of the smaller known (RJJ comeback fights) were like 30-40... very rare though. BHop definitely got more than a chance. Odds are against him, but he always the underdog. In his prime he'd kill Pav, and for the first time in a long time he's being active and this may help his conditioning... but he will be very close to 44. Not one of my most secure bets, but it's BHop, you gotta count on him spoiling everyone else's plans.
I am going to buy it if it's available down here. I'm only willing to do that because PPV's are cheap to order here, usually around $20 NZ which transfers to pennies in real money. I'd be interested to know how much it is in the US and UK.
My god that is bullshit. It is $50 over here in Australia, $40 on the odd occasion.
I might even be going to this one, but I'll be for sure buying it if I don't.

Hell yeah I'll even attend it. Gotta see two of my favorite fighters in the same ring, and after pavlik loses he can go fight abraham and continue his reign at middleweight.
No I'm not going to buy this one. I will just go to the pub and watch it. I am just expecting Bernard to do his best to spoil Pavlik to death, not really my idea of entertainment.
No, but only because there are some fighters I refuse to give money to. Hopkins is one of them. So was Tyson, Ruiz, Tarver, and a few others. Just the way I am.
