Why not let Cotto fight Clottey and the winner of that fight gets the winner of Williams/Margarito?

Cotto will be back in the picture soon enough. He's still one of boxing's biggest names so it won't surprise me to see him in a title fight after his next fight. Margarito on the other hand has to fight Paul Williams. That's the one fighter he needs to beat to be considered the lineal champion being he already has a loss against him. If Cotto can get passed say a Cintron, Clottey, or Berto late this yr and early next yr...a Cotto vs Margarito rematch is inevitable.

Calzaghe > Pea Anyway, I'd like to mention that although that is a great idea, the (apparent) general consensus is that Paul Williams is (by default) the man at 147lbs. Why? I dont know Talk to the coalition and new wave of P Will fans.

I can see Williams giving Cotto major problems...and I can see Marg beating Clottey again...Then I can see Williams beating Marg more convincingly this time, giving him 147 supremacy

I'd like to see Cotto fight Collazo, and have Clottey and Williams fight for a shot at a rematch with Margarito. I have no idea what Margarito would do in the downtime, but that kind of eliminator has always made sense to me.

I think Cotto should fight Collazo in NYC or AC. Collazo should be an easy fight as he doesn't have the power to KO Cotto but is a big enough name for a comeback fight. It's perfect as a confidence builder. Plus Collazo hasn't fought since January so the long layoff only helps Cotto.

That's a great idea, I don't think Arum will put Cotto in with Williams though because of his dislike for Al Haymon and it wouldn't be wise for Cotto to get into the ring with Williams so soon after his loss to Margarito.
