Only reason any person should go amateur now is either a hobby or if you wanna get noticed to kickstart your pro career, but pro boxing is just as corrupt as amateur I guess. Gutted for billy joe saunders, after frankie gavin he was our best hope. Still think the heavy weight can win a gold, but only because hes like 7ft tall and hits like a truck.

Yeah, this is really dampening my enthusiasm... I have a kid going to the European championships in November. I have next to zero motivation for the work ahead, because I know it's not up to what we do in training, and how he performs in the ring anymore. It's a fucking lottery (a rigged one where the home fighter is all but guaranteed a win)

I'm gonna have to agree. The scoring is just getting progressively worse as the competition moves along. Scores are way too low... :(

Billy Joe Saunders lost today, I didn't see the fight but he said to the bbc: "The points didn't go for me today," he said. "In the last round I knew I wouldn't get the decision unless I knocked him out. The scoring here is so bad for an Olympic Games. It's unbelievable. "I felt my performance was exceptional, but I've had better days. I felt I should have had six or seven points for my body shots, but they're not scoring body shots. You might as well do fencing, not boxing, if they're going to do that." There was a Puerto Rican vs Morrocan the body shot took into the account

Was Warren robbed? I was gone a day and came back to find out he lost. What happened there? I don't think he was, it was a pretty close fight although as always, there were a lot of punches that landed cleanly that weren't scored. Warren lost the fight by moving in the last 30 seconds thinking he was winning.

Sugar Ray Leonard also said that the amateur scoring system now is horrible, he said he wouldn't have been able to win a medal with this system.

He hit him so hard his headgear came off and they didn't even score it. yeah I seen couple of strong punchs that were not scored kinda weird. here is the system there are 5 judges and 3 of the 5 judge should tap the buzzer or something like that to consider a score. I think the all of the judges are located on one side of the ring. Because we see it through tv we get the whole view but I dont think all the judges get the whole view of the fight only one side of the fight

I agree... kid from Ghana straight hit the Brasilian guy w/ clean head shots and body shots and he recieved no points. He even knocked off the guy's head gear off w/ a clean head shot and no points. BULLSHIT!!!
