Do you have a link? I have been following this since the fight was proposed and the only thing I read was that Pacquiao was ASKING for 20 million. He was NOT offered that amount. Any purse talks was strictly in terms of percentages no precise dollar figure was guaranteed. Dan Rafael suggested an amount in his article... . Golden Boy never made a 20 million dollar offer. When that shit about Larry Merchant happened, is because you all love to discredit anyone who says anything negative about Floyd. Pacquiao doesn't have the leverage. Oscar can make $20+ mil fighting a number of people. He could make $30 or 40 mil to fight Tito. Pacquiao is DLH's plan D after Mayweather, Hatton and Cotto. Don't think for a minute that DLH doesn't have a plan E or a mind to go back to one of his earlier plans either. Mayweather isn't taking any calls, Trinidad can't even come close to making an agreeable weight, Hatton is booked for the rest of the year, and Cotto is damaged goods. So what really are his options, at least those that he would consider (as in no Margarito, Winky, etc.)?

Oscar can find plenty of hungry welterweights willing to take his percentage. I'm very far from an Oscar De la Hoya fan, but Pacquiao is the one to blame in terms of why the fight is not happening. His last PPV performed very poorly. Remember Oscar did 900,000 buy against Sturm with Hopkins-Allen 3 on the undercard. He did 600-700,000 for both Campas and Castillejo fights. Even still he guaranteed Pacquiao $20 mil for the fight and Pacquiao turned it down over 10% of the revenue knowing good and well that DLH is the one who owns a promotional company and that Bob Arum is also going to be kniving into the revenues since Pacquiao, like all other Top Rank fighters, wants it that way. I get it...it's not about the money. I get it...you can't put a price on the excitement Pacquiao brings to the table, etc. But idealist, purist pride aside...if Pacquiao REALLY wanted the fight don't you think he'd accept it knowing he's going to get $20 mil? Ok, I'll give you. Just one question, how is that different than Mayweather's dealing with just about any fight he's even thought about negotiating recently? The only reason why I ask is because you've hounded me over the fact that I'm a fan of him and I just don't understand why you get so upset about it. I really don't see any difference in that and what most fighters do...like Pacquiao did in this case. Clearly, he didn't want the fight and that's cool, whatever. Anyone who truly watched Hatton's latest fights up to May/Hatton knew that Hatton wasn't the fighter he was being hyped up to be by HBO and the promoters. But it happened, oh well. Another big money/low risk fight in the bag. Ok, now FINALLY we can see some REAL boxing. Nope, Mayweather/DLH 2 is in the works. See the pattern? Now, De La Hoya/Pacquiao is a good fight.......................for Pacquiao. Thats a TRUE challenge. Pacquiao shouldn't get much hate for this because this fight is MORE risk than reward for someone that started out as a STRAWEIGHT. Floyd was doing this with the fighters that weren't the biggest threats in the division. If Floyd was negotiating a fight with Bernard Hopkins or Roy Jones, I guarantee he wouldn't get hate, but he was negotiating a fight with someone he already beat decisively for a fight no one wanted to see. Even if it was just for marketing purposes, it still doesn't compare to what Pac was doing. Know what I mean?
