Would any one you still want to see this fight being Oscar isn't going after Margarito and would it be a good comeback fight for Cotto?
Your thoughts...
yea wel i want him to pass the torch to, but i would want it to be a fight between him and margarito. but looks like it aint gonna happen cuz he doesn't want to get it a real tough fight.
Oscar isn't stupid enough to fight Margarito given how piss poor he looked vs Forbes.
I personally would hate it. I think that would potentially be the worst fight that can be realistically made. I want Oscar to pass the torch, and Mora isn't the guy who I think would best represent the change in boxing.

fuck that. margarito is the king, nothing can be gained from beating cotto because he lost to margarito in a fight that was supposed to settle welterweight supremacy (don't tell pw that). everyone will clown odl for ducking margarito if he fights miguel, though that would still be a tough, tough fight for oscar.... fight margs!

No way. I would watch because Im a Cotto fan, but it would be bullshit. Margarito is the more deserving fighter. On top of that Oscar said he would fighthe WINNER. I have defended Oscar in the past, but this would be an insult of the highest degree to Margarito and boxing fans.
i would actually rather see de la hoya vs mora...

Interesting poll results on this one.
I'm really trying to think of who else he could fight that would garner some real attention.
Names like Winky, Mora, JCC Jr, or Trinidad don't seem likely if Oscar wants a big send off.
But if not Margarito, what fight would be the most appealing to fans?
yeah it would be ok. i wish tony to get paid, but would rather he fight for a strap with will, clottey, or berto. odlh would be a good comeback fight for cotto.
His passing of the torch fight was against Mayweather.. Mayweather took the torch and retired with it.
Nothing you can do about it.
Sadly though nobody looks at that fight as a passing of the torch more than an over hyped fight that didn't meet its expectations.
A fight with either Cotto or Margarito would be the proper send off for Oscar.
Oscar needs to pass the torch first.

I would be ok if he fights Daniel Santos....he is a Puerto Rican AND a Champion. The greatest recognition a Mexican Fighter can have is beating a Puerto Rican Champion. DLH has always wanted the love from the Mexican people so I wouldn't be suprised. Atleast that's what I think.
But I have to go with Margarito.....It would be the Mexican Boxing Superbowl. Imagine a stadium with 100k+ people with Mexican flags everywhere. I would pay to see that.
On the subject, no way it would be a good comeback fight for Cotto....Oscar may be out of his prime...but he's still an amazing boxer.
El Oh El
So amazing that he wanted to fight a LIGHTWEIGHT.
anythings better than him fighting pacquiao, thats gunna be the shittest fight there ever was. Soo much hype, probably a HBO countdown and oscar will probably stop him within the first couple of seconds literally
