i dunno why ali was so hyped up......i remeber people calling him inconsistent and not that good in the national level....i didnt remotely like what i saw in the golden gloves....

I thought that Kenyan dude and Mexican was horribly scored. The Kenyan landed about a billion jabs and the Mexican nailed him to the body. These fights are getting repetitive, nobody does shit with their lead hand because it doesn't score. There was a fight between a Kazak and Azerbaijani two proper vets and they knew not to even bother with the lead hand. I'm pretty sure no Americans or Brits will get gold. Is it possible (technically) to land a 3 punch combination in Olympic Boxing? Because from what I understand is that when 1 judge presses a button and 3 others agree, that's 1 point.....but what if i judge hits it twice? nope they'll just count as one unless all 3 double press during the combo which wont happen since it seems like there sleeping during these fights

I think counter punchers are definatley at home in the Olympics. The judges love that but they don't like wild attackers which is pretty much the opposite to the pro boxing world. I'd like to see a few of these guys turn pro i am intrigued to how they will do in real boxing.

Damn. I thought Ali would have a good chance at winning a medal. Raynell Williams looked pretty good but he has that Ukrainian to deal with if he gets that far. Andrade and Estrada weren't too impressive in their wins.

He did lose clearly to be fair, not that clearly however. The next fight between the Mexican and Botswanan was the worst fight so far. They should never have got in ahead of two europeans.

Yeah the Olympics are a counterer's dream, these attacking guys are more suited for the pros. Unless you are fast as shit you won't win in the Olympics.
