Who Should Cotto Fight Before Year's End?

I say Cintron for the following reason...Cintron has power and everyone says Cotto has a questionable chin. i don't really see that he was taking some pretty big shots from Margarito and he didn't get KO'd the man took so much punishment he simply could not continue. Cintron has been beaten by Margarito and is coming off a loss and Cotto is in the same boat. they are both of PR decent so it may be an attractive fight for the fans. I see it being an under card bout on a Williams vs marg card or a main event on a Judah vs Clottey rematchy. i defintely think if they want to sell some PPV in the WW division if it ain't a Cotto rematch of MArg they will need to pair up two good WW fights....Lefty

i think it should be like cotto v. urkal and cotto should take a fight with cintron in san juan puerto rico. that would be a good fight in my opinion. cotto wins probably by late fight stoppage but i think cintron puts up a good fight for 6 rounds or so. it would be a really big event with all the puerto rican fans turning out. after that it would be nice to see cotto in with clottey or williams; etc. That's actually not a bad idea, though it would be a Cotto crowd. But for namesake, that's really the only fight I can see being made at least right now with Berto & Clottey committed to dates.

I was hoping for a possible Cotto vs Clottey fight after hearing Zab was taking the fight. I agree. Take a soft touch to regain your confidence and then fight one of the names listed. A Clottey fight would be good to watch but not the right choice in his first comeback fight IMO. I think Collazo would be a good comeback fight. He's top 10, but he's not elite nor a huge puncher. The downside is he may make Cotto look bad.

I wanted to see him fight Clottey. I think it's a good match up, and will end up being a very entertaining fight. Dibella is talking to Arum about matching Cintron up with Cotto, and I think that's a horrible idea for right now.

Cotto should take the rest of 2008 off and then fight a tuneup or two in early 2009. I think he deserves a little hiatus from the sport to put things in perspective and to get his head straight. I just don't see the upside of rushing into a fight against a top opponent after his devastating loss to Marg...

I think he should take a softer fight to regain some confidence if he has lost any. But if he wants to come back and get right back into the thick of things a Clottey fight would be pretty good. I would like to see Cotto fight Andre Berto. Maybe he should take an easy fight though to get some confidence back. Berto is a champ now though, and cant avoid the elite much longer. Cotto, Clottey and Berto are simular in a lot of ways...built alike, power and can fight well...those three are gonna have fun with each other over the next few years...Margo has his future cut out for him with these guys.

Clottey, no doubt...great matchup then Paul Williams, then back to pounding on Margo.

That rematch is inevitable being Margarito retains the title after Clottey & possibly Williams in '09. IMO that's still Margarito's biggest payday But Cotto does need another couple fights to build the rematch bigger than the 1st which is highly likely People are giving Marg a hard time about wanting to fight DLH but I think he deserves a big payday. After that he should fight P. Williams and Cotto should have a tune up then fight Clottey. Clottey vs Cotto would be very interesting.
