Jermain Taylor should fight this guy and not Lacy...
Don't get the point of the video. This guy looks as limited as jeff lacy but lacy atleast has a better defense.
Lacy is a waste of Taylor's time. Go for a title against Froch instead of an easy $ fight when you just lost 2 in a row and don't even deserve the title shot in question. Dumbass Taylor.
:bottle::bottle: Just to show that some dont know the business of boxing...Let the man do what best for his OWN INTEREST instead of being a selfish dude...You guys kill me throwing around false information because they dont fight the fight when you want them to!
He is too green for Taylor it might be good for two or three rounds but I think Taylor would take him after 4 or 5.....Lefty
Too green? He's 30 years old and has worked his way to the mandatory for the WBC Title.
Who did Taylor beat to get a fight with Hopkins?

Difference being that Calzaghe is an undefeated 10 year, 2 weight champion, arguably P4P number 1 coming to the end of his career. Calzaghe has also made it his intention to keep his 168lb belt to fight Pavlik.
Taylor is coming off two defeats and has been given the oppourtunity to fight for a title in his first bout at a new weight. Taylor has made no intention whatsoever to fight Froch even if he beats Lacy.
You forgot to mention that Jones and Pavlik are both proven fighters who can sell lots of tickets and PPVs, so there's not a huge downside to Calzaghe choosing either fight.
Froch on the other hand is virtually unknown in the United States, unproven, and largely untested, while Lacy on paper at least is a former champion with decent main event TV exposure and he shares a backstory with Taylor to boot. Not only was Taylor offered an "opportunity" to fight for a title, he was also offered an "opportunity" to take less money for what everyone knows is a riskier fight. He was also offered another opportunity to fight an easier fight for more money that will probably allow him to go after whichever belts and paydays he wants.
You act as though Jermain should be grateful that he's getting a title opportunity after two losses and should take whatever he can get, but he seems to have lost very little in the way of popularity, and even gained some respect in his losses to Pavlik. HBO is still interested, the fans are still interested, and so his career is still alive and he has choices. I have a feeling HBO is the key player here; they haven't turned their back on Taylor so he's not going to turn his on them by fighting for a paper title on Showtime.
and joe calzaghe should have fought kelly pavlik so what's the difference. jermaine seems to be infatuated with lacy. and joe is in love with roy. no diffrence. but I do agree that the froch fight would have been a way better fight.

If Taylor beats Lacy he can pretty much choose whichever titleholder he wants: Froch, Kessler or Bute. And I'll bet that he'll command the bigger slice of the purse as well.
And regardless of which one he chooses (probably the most lucrative one), there will be a few people out there accusing him of ducking the other ones. For instance, if he can make a deal to fight Kessler for his title and a good payday, Froch fans will be up in arms over Taylor ducking their guy.
For 99% of fights that are made, at least a few people are going to be unsatisfied with the matchup.
Not only that, but if Taylor's promoter is to be believed, if Jermain wins he will be Froch's mandatory for the WBC belt (assuming he beats Pascal), so Froch won't have a choice.

That might be nice in terms of getting a great gut-feeling of sweet-revenge. But guess what? It aint gonna happen that way. Money's the name of the game and Taylor along with HBO brings the dough.
As soon as Taylor comes a-knockin', Froch comes a-hoppin'.

we'll get to see Froch/Kessler down the line anyway.
American's just aren't into the 168 division, we'll see Taylor flip/flip between 160/175 with matches against fellow Americans.
Let them get on with it.

Unfortunately that is the truth.

This shows a lot of ignorance from Jermains camp. I'm not blaming Jermain for his fight with Lacy over Froch because the reality is he probably has very little to do with who his opponent will be.
The fact that he has the chance to fight for the most prestigious title after 2 losses, admittedly the second fight was close, and turning it down for a 'payday' is now becoming Boxings downfall. People want the best fights made possible, as it us fans that make boxing as big as it is, yet we are being fucked over from the 'bigheads' that want nothing but the green.
When Froch beats Pascal for the vacant title, and Jermains camp come knocking, i hope Froch looks the other way to the likes of Kessler or Bute to teach them a lesson.

The fact is, if you ask any TV network not SkySports which matchups they'd like to see, they'd pick Taylor-Lacy over Taylor-Froch unanimously. Why, because American fans don't know who Froch is and won't until he fights some real guys. If the real guys are in America, you can't expect them to go over to England and fight.
You don't understand that if TV doesn't want a fight, whats the sense in making the fight.
Until he fights some real guys? This must be some kind of joke right? I am sure that Froch as well as Mikkel Kessler has tried to get some yank name to share the ring with him. But they dont want to saying that Froch's an unknown.
How is he going to be well-known, when no name fighter will fight him? That's the harsh reality euro-fighters is presented with and that's a danm shame as well as it's hurting boxing. If the US-networks continues to only back the few known fighters the good deserving ones are left out to dry.
The US-networks fail to even try to create new stars. That'll haunt them when the old guard in Hopkins, RJJ, Holyfield (hmmm...) are retired for real. Then boxing might be in a void with only Pavlik left as a superstar.

Noone is disputing that Taylor-Froch would be a better matchup than Taylor-Lacy, but the business is driven by the $$$. It makes more business sense for the promoters, fighters and broadcasters to put Taylor-Lacy on rather than a fight with Froch. I think you are underestimating how much of an unknown Froch is outside of the UK.
For the millionth fucking time, I know which fight will make more money and which is more marketabile for TV. I KNOW.
That doesnt mean its not a fucking joke.
WHO?!! Seriously you're exaggerating this way too much. I dont think anyone has ever really cared that much about Lacy vs Taylor.
If the majority of fight fans dont know Froch then they arent fight fans, they're casual fans. Fight fans know which the real legitimate matchup is.
Once again, it disturbs me when boxing fans start talking like promoters. Froch vs Taylor is one of the best fights to be made at 168.

That is the cold hard reality of it yes, but as a boxing fan do you endorse it? I know I don't. I am also going to tire very quickly of Americans asking 'who has he beat?' of Europeans if they will not even fight credible but theoretically lesser opposition for the sole reason that that is where they are from. America wants to have its cake and eat it.
Couldnt have put it better myself.
People are saying Froch should come over to America and fight someone with name recognition as if its such an easy thing to do.
First of all, most of the big stars wont fight him.
Secondly, if HBO arent keen to broadcast Froch vs Taylor, how are they going to settle for Froch vs a lesser name??
I'm just saying why the fight is not as feasible as Taylor-Lacy right now.
Most fans have been clamoring for years for Taylor and Lacy to fight, especially stateside. Most fans who don't get SkyNet aren't big Froch supporters.
There will be some who think this fight is a mismatch, but the majority of fight fans here don't even know who Froch is and thus can't really demand the fight.
Picking up a belt goes a long way towards getting the big name fighters to fight you.
