I have to say I have yet to attend a boxing event.I have been watching boxing for almost 10 years now...I live in a very small town in west ky and I feel like I'm the only big boxing fan around the whole state.I can never find anyone into boxing at all.Anyways I have always wanted to attend one but no big matches ever come close.I remember years ago Tyson fought someone at the Pyramid in Memphis ,Tenn. That is about 4 hours away and I couldnt get tickets to it.Anyways post your stories and your best boxing event...
Best I have been to was Zab V Floyd. Awesome fight and the riot was awesome. Tickets cost a shitload though.
I just joined this forum as the sports forums I belong to just didn't have much interest in Boxing. After Margarito vs. Cotto two great fighters I wanted to hear more from boxing fans. When I was a kid my dad was a good friend of Abe Green the Boxing Commissioner and we got tickets to the Basilio Robinson fight at Yankee Stadium in the late 50's. They had 3 fight and either could have been scored the winner in each fight. Robinson in my opinion was the greatest fighter of all time but he was in the twilight of his career against Basilio who was as tough as they come. In the fight I saw 15 rds. neither fighter went down, both gave there all Basilio won a split decision.
Ray Robinson I think was 130-1 thru his first 131 fights and even at 36 or 37 was a fighter of championship caliber. I think the magic of Robinson for me was that he look so regal in the ring, great posture, classic style a boxer with a knockout punch.
The Staples center is not a great place to see a boxing event. MGM that is where its at or Pechanga casino in Temecula Williams/Quintana Forrest/Mayorga Small venue and you have great seats no matter where you are sitting
In LA I really miss the Olympic Auditorium. That place was built for boxing and had a great atmosphere. Even the Forum was better than the Staples Center. I also prefer the MGM or Mandalay to Staples. The Orleans Arena in Las Vegas really sucked though.
nothing compares to a hatton fight for atmosphere
I would love to see a Hatton fight just for the atmosphere. I don't think he is the best fighter, but he has the best fans.
I saw Naseem Hamed-Auggie Sanchez and you could feel the electricity in the air. Even though it wasn't a super fight, whenever Hamed fought it was an event.
Corrales vs Castillo 1
Marquez vs Pac 1
Morales vs Barrera 3
Montiel vs Melendez
I've been to a bunch of live cards but these were the best of the bunch.
I hate going to the Staples Center. Are you in LA?

I went to some really good fights when I was young, but didn't appreciate them like I do now. The best two from recent years would be Mosley-DLH I and Lewis-Klitschko.
seems like big fights in LA always rock the house. wish they'd have more there.
Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn.
Just out of curiosity, what are the price ranges for these big PPV fights?
Depends FLoyd/DLH I paid $2000, Margarito/Cotto $700, Judah/Tzsyu $300, Barrera/Hamed $600, Barrera/Marquez $300
I have been very fortunate to watch many boxing events live.. Judah vs Tszyu, Hamed vs Barrera, Mosley vs De La Hoya 1 and 2, Pacman vs Barrera 2 Pacman vs Marquez 1,2 Pacman vs Morales 1,2,3 Mayweather vs De La Hoya Margarito vs Cotto, Marquez vs Vasquez 3, Forrest vs Mayorga 1,2 Williams vs Margarito, Williams vs Quintana 1, Barrera vs Tapia, Barrera vs Marquez, RJJ vs Gonzalez, Mayweather vs Corrales. As an Event wise Mayweather vs De La Hoya because of the hype and seat location it was crazy. Fight wise Pacman vs Marquez 1 because I took my cousin to his very first fight and we put alot of money on will go 12 rounds. Marquez went down 3 times and my cousin that doesn't speak a lick of spanish was screaming SI SE PUEDAY. along with the rest of the crowd. WE won our bet of course watched a great fight. The Hamed vs Barrera match was so dis heartining. I paid 600 per ticket had VItaly and Wladimir Klitchko sit in front of me exciting but I couldn't see shit. Then instead of a fight where I wanted Hamed to KO Barrera I saw how skilled and intelegent Barrera is. Fuck I can go on and on

Jirov-Toney was the best I've been to, but Pazienza-Dele was a complete zoo to be at. The Providence civic center was crazy during that fight. The place was literally shaking the Paz fans were so loud.
Cotto V Margarito, Cotto V Mosley, Pavlik V Taylor 2, and Barerra V Marquez. Those are the PPV's ive been too. When I was younger and could not afford trips I did see Mayweather fight at COBO hall in detroit against the drunken master.
