*Official* Juan Diaz Discussion Thread

This thread is for all the Juan Diaz fans. Also for Diaz-Katsidis discussion. Here we will talk about what Juan Diaz needs to do to win this fight. And we will talk about how he will retake the lightweight division and regain all his belts and add the Ring belt to his collection. When you think about it. Golden Boy promotions signed him to an 8 fight contract. So they must feel confident he will beat Katsidis. I was thinking why would they put him in against a guy they would think he would have a great chance of losing against? I mean it makes no sense to sign a guy for 8 fights, then he loses. Then all that money is down the drain. By no means am i saying Katsidis is a bum or push over. He is a tough mofo who will bring hell into the ring. He will try to make it a tough fight but i just think Diaz wins a decision like 8-4 in rounds while he demonstrates he does have some boxing skills. If he wins... What is next? Well with Marquez-Casamayor and Guzman-Campbell happening next. I would let those winners fight each other and let Juan Diaz take on Jose Armando Santa Cruz. Let him take an easier fight than Katsidis. Santa Cruz has been looking for a high profile fight since being robbed against Casamayor so this fight fits him. Then after he were to beat Santa Cruz. Definitely will be a nice fight that's for sure. Both guys come forward and throw quite a few punches, but Juan has a better defense and jab. Katsidis has that power advantage though and since Juan stays in front of guys so much you know Katsidis will land and I wonder how that will effect Diaz. With that said I think Juan will block enough shots and effectively land his own, but not hurt Katsidis and win a decision. Or becuase Katsidis cut's pretty easily he may win on cuts. What will also be interesting is to see is if Juan gets cut how he will react. Against Nate he didn't react too well.

Diaz isn't gonna have much trouble with Katsidis. Diaz should just work on the D but keep up the workrate and his punch output.

Juan is a tough son of a bitch, very good chin and alot of heart, I don't think Katsidis is up for it. It's gonna be a war, but I am sure Diaz will come out victorious. He does need to work on his D, he shoved that against Campbell, but I don't think Diaz will much trouble with Katsidis. If he stands in front of Katsidis and lets Michael get to the body with his power shots it could be a hard night for Juan. But, I think he will probably win.

I think Juan has a good chin, But i think he needs to work his defense to make sure he doesn't get caught too often else he may get in some trouble. I think he should work on boxing on the back foot a bit, Kasidis only knows one way so Juan should try to be more multi dimensional to win.
